Top of the shops

I check clothes websites every time I go on my laptop (which is most days) for the 'new in' sections to build up my wishlist. I go on my favourites new look, missguided and river island but I gave up with topshop quite a while ago when I felt like the quality was going down and the prices were going up. However, when I saw a photo of Michelle Keegan wearing a khaki, white and navy striped wrap top from topshop, I decided to give it a second chance and went and had a look. They seem to be back on the up as there were quite a few things that I loved, so I thought I'd make a wishlist to share with you all. This wishlist is obviously made up of more transitional clothes because I probably won't be buying many more summer clothes from now on.

1. Striped belted shirt dress £38
I love love love the colours in this dress; they're actually the same one's as in a shirt I've just bought. I think shirt dresses are great for as we start to go into Autumn and I've already bought a few (so expect to see them in upcoming outfit posts). This one is a really nice length and the belted waist gives it a nice shape.

2. Tie up swing dress £23
As you should know by now, I love all things lace up (as most people seem to at the minute). This dress would otherwise be very plain and kindof boring but the lace up detail really sets it off.

3. Soft belted trench coat £85
I've wanted a dusky pink coat for a while now, but I started looking for one just as we went into summer and so I had kindof missed the time to buy one. But now it's not long before we start heading back into coat weather so I started looking again and then fell in love with this topshop one. I love a trench coat style and the grey turn up sleeves are a nice added touch.

4. Strappy hardware bodycon dress £45
Okay so this is quite expensive but it's just so pretty, I have an obsession with khaki and the straps on this are gorgeous. It's an investment piece but I think it's an investment worth making.

5. Ahoy cropped tee £24
This top is very 'hello sailor' (that was for you Joe) but I like it. I love stripy tops because I think it's such a classic print and the added kitsch touches on this top are really cute. The loveheart on the sleeve also has a certain 'valentino' air about it which will always be a bonus in my eyes.

6. Rhonda fringed sandals £52
I think neutral coloured shoes such as nude, camel or taupe can often serve you better than black or white. Say if you're wearing a colour like mustard yellow or rust red then black or white can look too harsh against it whereas neutrals will always look good. The fringing on these is amazing and the heel is basically the perfect height.

7. 90s knitted ribbed crop top £22
I never like buying basics because I think it's a waste when you could be buying something prettier and more exciting but sometimes it's necessary to stock up. I love a high neck style and, back on to my point about neutrals - this camel colour will go with everything.
