New season lust-haves

Brown is the new black

I know it's still summer, but we are well into August now and by the time I get back from my holiday, it'll be bank holiday and then just like that, we're into the Autumn months. And what's the best thing about Autumn? Transitional fashion. I've said for a while now that Spring and Autumn are my favourite months in terms of clothes because you can wear a jacket and also have bare legs and wear any style of shoes without worrying that your feet will be too hot/cold. And if you're a long term reader of my blog then you'll know that I go through phases on colours and styles and prints (dogtooth, yellow, lilac, racer crops to name a few) and I can already tell what my new-season obsessions are going to be. The first one is the colour - it's a little weird but I'm starting to really love chocolate brown. It's such a warm rich colour and a beautiful alternative to black. It also goes nicely with other autumnal colours like red and camel. All the clothes in this post can be found on missguided by the way. But don't go and buy any of them because then they might not have my size by the time I go to buy them on payday. Okay thanks.

All tied up

This is a trend that me and everyone else has been loving through summer that I can definitely see myself still loving through next season aswell. Lace up detailing looks good on everything  - be it shoes, dresses, tops or bodysuits. I already have a few nice lace-up bits and the next on my list is a long sleeved lace-up top which will be the perfect piece to take me through to next season. I am also in love with the colour of the dress on the right; it's like halfway between brown and taupe.

Jump to it

I've never been a massive fan of jumpsuits. Actually no that's not true - I've always loved them, just not on myself. I've never found one that fits and flatters both my bottom half and top half so I was kind of starting to think that I was a lost cause. Until I bought a gorgeous white bandeau style one from new look a couple of months ago and now I think that jumpsuits are the best thing since sliced bread. I prefer the culotte styles because I think they're a little more chic and nicer for this time of year - that little bit of leg on show helps to keep the outfit a little summery. The grey one is a definite must-buy on payday!!
