From happy birthday to hair of the dog

Is it possible to be in love with an item of clothing? If so then I am definitely in love with this white dress from missguided. The high neck is my favourite style and I love the totally clear mesh panels (although they do give you a bad case of side boob and create a bra dilemma that's pretty hard to get round). I originally tried to order this dress for my birthday but they sent the wrong one and then when I went to reorder it, it was out of stock. So imagine my joy when they finally restocked; I bought myself one straight away. It was on sale for only like £25 too! I decided to shy away from an all-white outfit because I thought it'd look a bit much so I matched my bag to my black pointed toe shoes (new look). I thought they were getting more comfortable but it turns out that I can't hack a night out in them - when I went out for my friend Olivia's birthday, I had taken them off by the time I was walking to get a taxi. I went with a pretty classic smokey eye with lots of charcoal and black shades. Although I prefer to use a champagne base rather than a silver or white because I think it has a nicer depth and it's my favourite shade form my Lorac palette. I finished with Retro lipstick and then gold watch, gold rings and gold earrings which were only like a pound from primark and are my new favourites!

To say I had a serious hangover, I think I did quite well to get up and get ready for a family meal at Amores. I wore this gorgeous taupe, black and white river island swing dress with mesh panels (clearly the theme of the weekend) and added my lace-up sandals (public desire) which seem to have the ability to make any outfit look amazing. I went with a very OTT smudged-out makeup look using lots of brown and black matte shades, with black eyeliner on my waterline and the longest lashes I've worn in a very long time (they brushed my eye brows when I had my eyes wide open); they're by Eylure and are the No 143's and they have beautiful texture and length. I added Taupe lipstick and then little black stud earrings (new look). The food was uh-mazing. Everyone knows that the best cure for a hangover (besides lots of greasy food covered in cheese) is some classic hair of the dog. Prosecco. And why? Because we were out celebrating my new job! I am a firm believer that in life you get out what you put in and that success is a product of hard work (unless you're a kardashian). So after starting my blog a year and a half ago, being featured in my local newspaper a few times, working unpaid for 10 months at my internship and doing voluntary work for an events company who then paid me to work for them at different events, I have actually got myself my first ever salaried job! You are now looking at the new social media and content assistant at Unidays! It's part-time so unfortunately for me, I'll still be working at mcdonalds part-time too. But actually that helped me in part to get the job because the long hours I do each week showed that I'm a hard worker. It's actually a graduate job aswell but they were impressed with my CV and didn't seem to mind about my lack of a degree, so I'm even more happy with my choice not to go to uni than ever before. Instead of spending 3 years of my life doing something I don't enjoy, I'll be out making money instead. I've already decided that my first wages will be spent on a pair of senso shoes; I decided that a long time ago. I will be sad to leave my internship though because my boss Hannah is one of the coolest I think I'll ever have and I'll miss our trips out for breakfast and our after-work drinks. I also have everything to thank her for - straight out of college and with no relevant experience in fashion or marketing, she gave me a chance and I've gained invaluable experience that I wouldn't have got this job without. So although I'll miss her and everyone at the office, I'm excited for the next step in my journey to becoming a rich successful fashionista. Plus Unidays have Baking Thursdays; could there be a job out there more perfect for me? Expect plenty of cake-filled instagram photos when I start at my new office in September!
