That's a wrap!

Two things that I've wanted for absolutely ages; some lace-up sandals and a white wrap top. You can't tell me I'm not a princess - I always always always get what I want. The lace-up sandals were first and they were from public desire for £29.99. Public desire have LOADS of amazing lace-up shoes right now but a lot of the sandals are heeled and for once in my life I actually wanted a flat pair so they'd be nice for holiday. I also wanted a pair that went right up my legs and had a zip up the back too so that they wouldn't fall down (mango do a nice pair but it's just lace up so I'm betting they wouldn't stay up for longer than 5 minutes). Cue this beautiful pair; I was stuck between buying them in tan or black but I figured that black would go with more. The second thing I've wanted for ages is a white wrap top but all the ones I found either had some lace-up bit or were too long or had some random studs or something on and I just couldn't find the right one. Until I found this one from new look for only £14.99 and fell in love with it. I just love this style at the minute; it just looks so chic and laid back and very fashionista-in-paris. Today I wore my two new favourite items together with these snake print shorts (river island) and my primark white duster jacket. I finished with my Marc Jacobs watch and a couple of embellished gold rings and then created a deep pink ombre lip using Soar lip liner and Plumful lipstick, both by MAC.

I've not written a book review before (probably because I don't read that many "high profile" books) but I have done plenty of ranting on this blog before so this probably falls more into that category. I'm just going to put it straight out there; Girl Online was possibly the worst book I've ever read. I don't understand the current trend with Youtubers releasing books; just because you know how to sit in your bedroom speaking to yourself, it doesn't mean you know how to write. Although Zoella (Zoe Sugg, author of Girl Online) could've atleast released this book as what it was - an autobiography. Instead she tried to disguise it as a novel but the main character Penny was basically her. A blogger from Brighton who gets anxiety and loves children who falls for a guy who is exactly like her, is a youtuber and plays the guitar (her real-life boyfriend Alfie, aka pointless blog). She has a brother and parents who are still together (exactly like Zoe in real life) and has a gay best friend who wears really eccentric outfits (probably based on Tyler Oakley). And as if the fact that zero imagination went into the storyline or the characters, the book was also poorly written. And it turns out that Zoe didn't even bother to write it herself - she hired a ghost writer! So basically all she did was tell a writer about herself and they turned what she told them into a cringey book with very little storyline to it. I know I'm a little older than the target market but I'm sure it would make anyone over the age of 12 cringe; I was cringing all the way from 'you're my inciting incident' to 'I like you so much I think it might be love' (which they said to each other after like a whole 4 days of knowing eachother). My favourite part was when I read the last sentence and could finally chuck it away.
