Ladies who lunch

And let the birthday celebrations commence! Yes, it's that time of year again and if you're a long time reader of my blog then you'll remember my extensive celebrations (and matching blogposts) from my 18th last year. In my family, my birthday is like everyone-elses-birthdays-combined meets christmas meets prom; it's a big deal. Although 19 is not exactly a mile stone (I have to admit I'm sad at the prospect of not being 18 anymore), I still kicked off the celebrations 5 days early with a ladies-who-lunch style afternoon tea with my mum and grandma at Browns yesterday. As you can see from the photo, it was uh-mazing! We had mixed finger sandwiches including lobster (fancy), scones with jam and clotted cream, a lemon creme brulée slice, a vanilla mousse, a chocolate covered profiterole and a slice of red velvet cake - each! We also had tea and I had a glass of champagne (lobster and champagne made me feel like the filthy rich person I plan to be) - needless to say we all had serious food baby afterwards. I went straight from the office so I was wearing an outfit that would work for both. This black dress with leopard print ponyskin collar and cuffs was a staple through winter and so I decided to bring it into summer by wearing it sans black tights with my white coat (missguided) and strappy new look shoes. I love these shoes (although they do hurt) because the beautiful strappy design and feminine pointed toe makes me feel like a proper lady (if you didn't read that in the little-britain-david-walliams voice then who even are you?).
