Hot taupe-ic
This blogpost is coming to you a little late but better late than never! I went out partying two nights last week and I accidentally wore the same colour scheme on both nights so I thought it made sense to club them together into one blogpost. The first night was my crew party, and as much as I may moan about working at mcdonalds, the people are amazing and my work nights out are always some of my best. I wore this beautiful taupe, black and white shift dress with mesh paneling; it was from river island and if it looks familiar then that's because I already have a black and white version that I wore in a blogpost a couple of months ago. It was about £40 so it is kindof expensive but you can really feel the quality in river island stuff so I don't mind paying a bit more for it. I added my strappy black pointed-toe heels and black shoulder bag and then my black and gold Olivia Burton watch and loaaaaads of gold rings. I kept with the taupe theme and created a light brown smokey eye using matte shades and my Lorac palettes. I started with Light brown from my Lorac 2 as my base and then added Espresso (Lorac 1) through my crease and under my lower lash line. I blended Black (a shade that's in both Lorac palettes) through my crease and round my outer corners and then in the outer parts of my lower lashline too. I finished with winged eyeliner and false lashes. With the title and the colour scheme so far, I bet you can never guess what lipstick I wore? Yes well done - Taupe! I had such a good night (but a very messy night), made even better by the fact that I barely spent anything because my drinks were all paid for!
And then saturday was Sian's birthday night out and I just so happened to wear a dress made up of exactly the same colours; this taupe, black and white striped bodycon dress was also from river island and I love the open back design. Again, it was £40 but it's a lovely fine knit fabric so it feels expensive. I finished with my normal black bag, black boots and gold watch. I went with a brown smokey eye again but I decided to go with a shimmer finish this time as opposed to matte. I started with Light bronze from my Lorac 1 palette and then blended Mocha (Lorac 2) through my crease and upwards into a cat-eye shape. I added Black (both palettes) through my crease and along my lower lash line as well as round the outer corners and then finished with lashes and Soar lip liner, which was actually a present from Sian on my own birthday and I love it so much - it's amazing and lasts ages! For her birthday, I got her Twig lipstick by MAC because as you probably know it's one of my favourites and I think that the sign of a good gift is if you want it for yourself!
