Diary of a princess: birthday antics
In true princess style, I celebrated my birthday over 5 days (and drank on every single one of them so todays 5 day hangover was not the nicest thing). If you read Thursday's blogpost then you'll know about my amazing afternoon tea at Browns that kicked off my birthday celebrations on wednesday. I continued on thursday with my regular trip to rock city with a few of my favourites from work. I wore black leather shorts (missguided) and nude pink high neck top (river island) which is just the nicest fabric. I added my black boots and black shoulder bag and wore a silver-toned smokey eye look with Taupe lipstick.
After my more-than-messy night on Thursday, I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I made it out on Friday night for dinner and drinks. It was chucking it down with rain over the majority of my birthday weekend (not ideal) so I wore a midi skirt rather than a shorter one. This one was from topshop a while back and I love the print and colours in it; I wore it with a black crop top with cut-out sections (new look) and black pointed toe strappy heels (new look). I added my khaki duster coat over the top (which is peachskin so it really doesn't mix well with rain) and my Marc Jacobs watch. Me and the girls had the nicest and funniest time (although I think it was mostly just ridiculous inside jokes because when I retold them to my mum, she didn't find them very funny) and I had the most amazing dinner of chicken fajitas and sweet potato fries at Las Iguanas. We also timed it perfectly for happy hour so we all got 2 cocktails each and then mix and matched them.
And then saturday was my actual birthday and so I woke up to find that I had been spoilt (well more than any other day of the year). I had mimosas with breakfast (well actually I had mimosas FOR breakfast) while I opened my presents and I had so many lovely things! I couldn't be bothered to photograph everything like I did last year but I got a black and gold Olivia Burton watch, rose gold Zoeva eye brushes, perfume, disney DVDs (because I collect them), a couple of books, clothes, some things for my holiday like a new bikini and new beach towel, some makeup bits and jewellery bits along with other random bits and bobs like cute room signs and baking accessories (my mum and grandma are really good at gift shopping for me), and then money from other relatives too. Then I had a cute birthday lunch with the family (finished off with my giant millies cookie) before I went shopping in town. Because seriously, how else would I have spent my birthday? I got a £50 note from my grandad for my birthday and seeing as barely anywhere accepts them, I really wanted to break into it. Working at mcdonalds, I know that they accept them so I went there. When I paid for a £1.29 bottle of water with a £50 note, it's safe to say that the girl behind the counter thought I was the biggest prick ever and looked like she wanted to murder me. It just had to be done though; although it did feel nice to feel like a baller with a £50 note in my purse for a while. For my day of shopping, I wore a camel striped skirt from missguided with a black bardot river island top and black crocodile print boots (river island) with my khaki duster coat (missguided) over the top.
Sunday was my final day of celebrations and so I spent it the way that sundays should be spent - pigging out! We had the most incredible family meal at Prezzo; I had lobster for the second time in a week but this time in the form of lobster ravioli. It looks like I'm going to be fancy as a 19 year old. I wore this white bandeau jumpsuit that I'm literally so in love with; it's from new look and is a gorgeous culotte style. It is see through though so I had to buy nude underwear especially for it (nude is the ugliest colour for underwear but it was necessary). I wore it with grey and black barely-there heels and my new watch, along with a leaf design ear cuff that was also a birthday present. I also added the necklace I got from Staci and then Velvet teddy lipstick. I don't want to be too soppy but I want to thank everyone who made my birthday so special; I love you all! Oh look at that, I got soppy anyway.
