I see seas of green
It's been so long since I had the chance to do one of these kind of outfit blogposts because I'm a busy bee and so the only days I get off are the ones I spend in bed hungover. Which means that all my blogposts end up being just outfit of the day ones; so I fancied doing something different. And I know that the lyrics are technically 'trees of green' but that wouldn't make much sense now would it. You can pretty much catergorise the colour green into 3 different shades - dark green, bright green and pastel green. And seeing as I have a coat in each of the different shades (of course), I thought I'd build outfits around each of them. I think this time of year is perfect coat-and-bare-legs weather so I've done all the outfits like that and I've also planned the outfits according to occasion.
For the office...
Obviously this one kind of depends on how strict the dress code in your office is. Working in fashion, you can pretty much wear what you want but I know that not all offices have such a blasé attitude (check me using fancy words). As you should know by now, this is probably my favourite skirt of all time. This H&M beauty is the perfect fit and length and is really flattering. I loved it so much in fact that I also bought it in black (typical of me). I think that nude is a great colour for spring and summer because it's neutral without being heavy like black, drab like grey or stark like white. I put it with this blue missguided crop top with crochet detailing, that I just love the neckline of. I matched my shoes to my top and went with these baby blue heeled courts (new look) and then finished with my khaki duster coat from missguided that complements the pastel blue without clashing with it.
For a shopping trip...
This bright green coat was one that I lusted after for ages before eventually buying it from very.co.uk because it reminds me of the Blair Waldorf coat that she wears in the famous I-love-you-too scene, and I wanted one the same colour since the first time I watched it. This one is perfect because of it's tailored fit, although the colour is hard to wear at times because so little goes with it. If in doubt though, go with monochrome. So in this outfit I wore this pretty little 60s inspired dress that was from river island. I love the mesh inserts and the floaty design and to say it's white, it's actually not see-through. Because of the colour block coat and simple dress, I made a statement in these strappy missguided shoes. I love strappy or lace-up shoes and these were only like £10 in the sale a while ago!
For a date night or meal out...
This playsuit is still one of my favourite pieces because it's an amazing dupe of the Valentino camubutterfly range (if you don't know that Valentino is my favourite designer by now then seriously where have you been?). The long sleeves actually make your legs look longer (please don't ask me to explain the science behind it, because I don't know) especially when worn with nude shoes like this (these are from new look). Because of the multi-coloured print, there are so many colours that will look nice with this playsuit but to stick to the theme of my blogpost, I added my mint green coat from Choies.
