Blowout vs budget

Let's play a game. Guess who? Or rather, guess how much (based on whether it's the blowout product or the budget alternative). I've mentioned some of these products and designers before and so I'm really happy that the high street is bringing out some pretty good copies. Let's see if you can guess the real from the fake, and if you can't then either you're really bad or the copies are really good. Don't cheat! Be sure to guess which is which before reading the bit below. This first one should be pretty easy based purely on the way each one is photographed. Of course, the one on the left is the more expensive as it's THE Chloe dress of the summer that I've mentioned several times already. It's not even online yet but working from similiar designs, I would guess that it's around £3,000. Which is a little out of my price range (only a smidge). So I'm over the moon that missguided have brought out a dupe for only £38. It's not quite as intricate but it's still beautiful and I'll definitely be buying it on payday!

Public desire are shamelessly copying Kurt Geiger right now - which is perfect for people like me who don't fancy spending £180 per pair of shoes. Did you guess which was which? Well for those of you who said that Public Desire (£39.99) were on the right, you were wrong. I actually think that the cheaper option are nicer and look more expensive, which almost never happens. Seeing as I'm obsessed with lace-up shoes (and tops and bodysuits and pretty much everything), I think I might have to order these.

This one should be really easy unless you've never read a magazine or seen a photo from the red carpet or looked at a fashionistas instagram or just generally been living under a rock. The Chanel logo is iconic and the quilted boy bag is their most famous piece so if you can't tell a real from a copy then you lose major points in this game. The genuine Chanel is clearly the one on the right, with the Beehola copy on the left. Although to say the real one is £3,270, the copy is a pretty good one - especially since it's £3,245.05 cheaper at only £24.95!

Out of all the dupes on this post, I'd say that these are the closest copies, so I won't think too badly of you if you get this one wrong. If you look at the finer details; the coral sole, the patterned back panel and the white piped edges; then you can work out that the pair on the left are the more expensive at £150. These are another Public Desire / Kurt Geiger copy and I think that they've made a really good copy. A good copy made even better by the fact that they're only £29.99.

So although these are a slightly different colour, they're both still neutrals that will go with pretty much everything and the structure is almost exactly the same. In this case, I actually think that the cheaper pair look more expensive. Can you guess yet? The ones on the right are the cheaper pair! They're from Zara for £39.99, while the pair on the left are yet another pair of Kurts for £170. As you can probably tell by the amount that I wear my own, I love love love caged or strappy heels.

When I get a proper full time paid job, the very first thing that I plan to buy is 100% going to be a pair of senso shoes. Ever since I discovered the Australian brand about 6 months ago, I've been head over heels in love and I literally want every single pair of shoes that they sell in my wardrobe. I haven't bought any yet though because they're all over £100 and I haven't had that kind of money to blow on just one pair of shoes in a long time. This particular pair are roughly £130 (when converted from Australian dollars) and they are the ones on the right. The gold heel makes them look a little more expensive than the Zara alternative on the left. But the Zara ones are only £39.99 so I might consider buying them until I can afford a pair of Sensos.

If you don't recognise these then you must be a first time reader because I go on and on about my love for Valentino all the time. Here lies the truest test of all. If you can't tell my favourite designer from the VERY cheap high street dupe then you lose this game, even if you got all the other ones right. Drum roll. The Valentino's are of course on the left and at £620, they are an aspiration of what I hope to own some day and definitely not something I can afford for a while yet. So until I can afford them and start building my Valentino wardrobe of dreams, these Ami Clubwear copies are a cute alternative and at only about £20 (converted from US dollars) it would be rude not to buy them.
