Paris is always a good idea
There's a whole lot of female celebration going on at the minute - first we had International women's day and now we've got mothers day. For any negative people who spend the whole of mothers day saying 'why say happy mothers day on social media when your mum won't see it', I would just like to take the opportunity to say a massive happy mothers day to my amazing mum, who does read my blog so she will see this (*sticks tongue out at said people*). We had such a nice day as well - we were planning to go to the cinema to see the new live-action Cinderella movie but it's not out in the UK yet so we went to see the second best exotic marigold hotel instead which was such a feel-good film and had some really cute life quotes in it. Then we met up with the rest of the family at Bella Italia where we had a gorgeous meal and drank too much wine. That actually seems to be a pattern for most Sunday's lately but it's probably because I'm saving for holidays so I have to make the most of alcohol and food that I don't personally have to pay for. As you may know by now, I am a tiny bit obsessed with Parisian style. If I don't become a Parisian fashionista one day then I'll be really upset. To achieve the ultimate french vibes, I obviously had to go with stripes, heels and a trench coat. My striped top is so pretty but I hardly ever wear it because it doesn't seem to go with much (even though you would think it would); I got it from topshop about a year ago now and I love the little flower hem. I wore it with these mushroom coloured trousers that were from H&M and are such a gorgeous fit. For a Parisian style, I think tailored trousers or midi skirts are absolutely essential. I also couldn't resist wearing my newest pair of shoes - these gorgeous pointed white courts were only £10 from primark and are the perfect shoe for spring! Although with cheap shoes come a higher price to pay; I can honestly say these are probably the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. Because of the thin sole and lack of platform, it just feels like you're walking directly on the rough ground. I may have shoes that are more painful but pain wears off - these are actually just really difficult to walk in. I barely walked anywhere today because the restaurant was right around the corner from the cinema and yet I still got my foster brother to give me a piggy back all the way home from the bus stop because it was too much like hard work to walk. If you're planning on buying them then you have been warned - you have to be like me and be prepared to suffer for your art. I then added a trench coat which you may think is new but you've actually seen it many times before. It's from primark and normally has a fur collar which is actually detachable. I've never worn it without the fur before though and I actually think I prefer it like this, especially for spring. My stressed-but-well-dressed clutch was the perfect finishing touch and then I completed the look with statement stud earrings, Michael Kors watch, rose gold eye makeup and Twig lipstick by MAC. The only way to make this outfit more perfectly Parisian would be to have a french macaron in each hand. That is the way to a balanced diet right?
