Checking you out

The first thing you may note from these two pictures is that the outfits are actually different as opposed to having the same outfit with an added coat - this is because I've been lazy with my blogging this week and so I've combined two outfits into one post. The second thing you may note is that one photo is a lot sunnier than the other which explains the weird difference in lighting. And the third and final thing you may have noticed (and died of shock upon noticing) is that in the second photo I'm wearing flat shoes. Not pretty flat shoes either but casual flat shoes! All will be explained in a few days but all you need to know is that after walking around town for 9 hours straight in heeled boots, I couldn't hack it any longer and had to switch to flats. The one consistent thing though is the jacket (new look), which I love for this time of year because it's a great transitional piece and goes with so much to say it's printed. For the first of my two checked outfits, I wore boyfriend fit jeans (topshop) with a white beaded top (river island) because it looked nice and summery for the sunny weather. I balanced the outfit with black boots (new look) and then finished with my Michael Kors watch and Velvet teddy lipstick from MAC. For my second outfit (once I'd admitted defeat and gone for a more casual look), I went with this rust-coloured zip skirt (new look) because I think it's a gorgeous colour and a really nice fabric, and then I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a white bralet (missguided) and white leather converse. I finished with my Michael Kors watch again and then Taupe lipstick also from MAC, which matches the colour of the skirt perfectly. I know I'm being very mysterious about what I've been getting up to this week but all will be revealed soon.
