50 loves and hates
Seeing as my 50 facts about me blogpost was my most popular one to date, I'm guessing you like the more personal posts that allow you to learn all my secrets. Well not all my secrets, a lady never reveals all her secrets. But one not-so-secret secret that I will let you in on, is that I am probably the most opinionated person you'll ever meet and so instead of 50 more facts about me (they'd be really hard to think of), I thought I'd share with you 50 of my biggest loves and hates. Some of them will be obvious, some you may already know and some will probably come as a surprise. Weirdly, it was easier to think of things I hate than things I love, which is kindof worrying. Happy reading!
1. I love shopping, which explains why I never have money and am always in debt.
2. I love my job; working as a fashion intern has made these last 5 months so enjoyable and I never dread mondays anymore.
3. I hate slow walkers. I hate people who randomly stop right in front of you even more.
4. I love eating out and my favourite is Italian, closely followed by Spanish.
5. I hate when you order something online and have to send it back because it's a hassle and you end up losing a percentage of what you paid so I end up just keeping things I don't even like.
6. I hate when people don't tip in restaurants. Because I've worked in customer service so long, it makes me the nicest customer ever because I know how vile people can be.
7. I hate children #sorrynotsorry.
8. I love writing, as you can probably tell by the 182 lengthy blogposts that I've been boring you all with for over a year now.
9. I love Marilyn Monroe quotes (or quotes accredited to her which are very different things, as my dad always reminds me); a couple of my favourites are 'a wise girl kisses but doesn't love' and 'beneath the makeup and behind the smile I'm just a girl who wishes for the world'.
10. I love the quotes 'women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition' and 'I don't mind living in a mans world as long as I can be a woman in it' (both also Marilyn Monroe) because I consider myself an alternative feminist; I believe in equal rights and equal pay but I think that we should celebrate the differences between men and women rather than to pretend they don't exist.
11. I hate when people mix up 'genuinely' and 'generally', Lauren does it on purpose because she knows it annoys me. Mixing up 'been' and 'being' and 'then' and 'than' and 'woman' and 'women' are also up there with my pet-hates.
12. I love travelling. I don't plan to do a cliche gap year in Thailand, but I do plan to spend my life living and working in all the different States of America and Australia and France and Italy; I just want to see it all.
13. I hate Kim Kardashian, especially now she's dyed her yellow-blonde just in time to make a fool of herself at Paris Fashion week, as if her tacky fashion choices wouldn't have done that sufficiently for her.
14. I hate people who eat in public like outside; eating is for at home or at restaurants/cafes/fast food places. Like what is the need to eat at a bus stop, why can't you just wait until you get home (just one of my weird dislikes).
15. I love Netflix, I don't know where I'd be without it. My favourite shows are Gossip Girl, Pretty little liars and The vampire diaries.
16. I love Patisserie Valerie, I wish I could live on a diet of only cake and macarons.
17. I hate people who eat/drink/breathe noisily.
18. I love Disney because I'm a real life Princess and I'm ridiculously excited for the live-action Beauty and the beast film in 2016.
19. I love being 18. People said turning 18 was overrated but it's definitely not - it's great just being able to buy alcohol or book a holiday or hire a car (if I could drive, which I can't yet). I actually don't want to turn 19, I think it's a boring age.
20. I hate cycling. If you read my recent Amsterdam post then you will know that me and bikes do not get along. I'm lethal on one and it wouldn't serve me very well as a getaway vehicle. I also hate other cyclists because they pick and chose when to be a pedestrian and when to be a vehicle and just get in everyones way.
21. I hate when technology fails me. If my phone or laptop or internet isn't working then it WILL put me in a bad mood.
22. I love having a computer genius brother who regularly fixes said things for me when I get in a mess with them.
23. I love pink and white marshmallow wafers - they are legit the best things ever and they're only 50 calories each(!!!)
24. I hate beer. I've taught myself to like vodka and cider and wine and even tequila and sambuca (the two worst drinks ever), but I just can't drink beer it's horrible.
25. I love reorganising things; my wardrobe, my desk, my dressing table. As long as everything stays organised - my room has a place for everything and everything is always in its place (weirdly OCD, is the phrase you're looking for).
26. I hate putting clothes away after they've been ironed. My wardrobes are all bursting at the seams so trying to cram loads more clothes into them is a just stress.
27. I hate flat shoes. You should know by now that heels are an everyday must for me.
28. I love magazines. I spend loads on them every month and want to work on a fashion magazine one day.
29. I hate exercise or any kind of sports. I do at-home workouts or go running because I can never be bothered to actually go and join a gym.
30. I hate when people have pointless animals as pets. Like fish or hamsters, get a proper pet like a cat or a dog.
31. I love cocktails and my favourite is a Pornstar Martini, preferably from Revolution.
32. I hate that I have a natural resting bitch face because people assume I am a bitch (which I am, but I'm a nice bitch to people I like). It's also annoying that I've got a really expressive face so I regularly give Cher-from-clueless/Blair-Waldorf-from-gossip-girl looks to people in the street who irritate me.
33. I love instagram, it's my favourite app.
34. I love baking and when I'm old and have had a long and successful career in fashion (#lifegoals), I plan to become the next Mary Berry.
35. I love getting ready for a night out. Some girls think it's tedious and annoying but I love trying out new makeup and putting outfits together. I do those things in the day but everything's more fun when it's accompanied by a huge glass of wine.
36. I hate Winter because the hours of daylight are so short which makes me feel so much less productive.
37. I love the fact that I have a group of really true, genuine, amazing friends who I know will always be there. I see so many tweets and statuses about snakes and fake friends and keeping your circle small but I think that must be a really sad way to live.
38. I hate Ugg boots. I bought a real pair about 4 years ago and then went off them a couple of months later. A prime example of my money-wasting skills.
39. I hate that I am incapable of saving money. I've been earning for 2 and a half years now and have saved a total of zero pounds and zero pence.
40. I love reading, whether it's a book, a magazine or a blog.
41. I love doing adventurous stuff despite my girly tendencies. I really loved going on a segway and going on a banana boat and going parasailing and I'm hoping to do more stuff like that this summer.
42. I hate when I forget to wear a watch, it makes me feel lost.
43. I hate falling asleep in my makeup, or even worse, in my contact lenses (I also hate the fact that I'm so blind).
44. I love Victoria Beckham, she's the most perfect role model. Popstar turned super-classy fashion designer with the best looking husband on the planet and 4 gorgeous children (if all children were like hers than I'd probably like them).
45. I love the fact that I have parents who have always supported me no matter what. Not going to uni was always the choice I had planned for myself and they never quibbled it, not once, which I'm crazy grateful for; most parents from a family of over-achievers wouldn't have been so understanding.
46. I hate eating food that's supposed to be hot, cold. Cold pizza, cold pasta, just no. I do like cold sausage rolls though.
47. I love eavesdropping on random peoples conversations like on the bus or in a restaurant.
48. I love when someone compliments my outfit or my style. I think it's a better compliment than being called beautiful.
49. I hate when people say people only hate others because they're jealous. If I don't like you then there's a 100% chance that it's because I don't like your personality and not because I'm jealous of you.
50. I love gift giving, possibly even more than receiving. I also have a tendency to spend too much on gifts for people. But then again, I have a tendency to spend too much fullstop.
I also love eavesdropping on people in public! I'm glad there's two of us because I always thought that made me weird!
