5 wardrobe essentials for any would-be fashionista
Ladies and gentlemen, I am currently experiencing some technical difficulties with a lifestyle blogpost about the events of last week because it's supposed to contain a video which refuses to upload to blogger, youtube or any video editing sites. So while I work on fixing that (ie. strop and complain and eventually either get my brother to sort it out or leave out the video altogether), I thought I'd do a mini blogpost just to keep you going (I'm sure you can't cope without my words of wisdom for even a few days). My subject of choice is wardrobe essentials! Something a little different to what I normally do, this blogpost includes the 5 things that I think no woman's wardrobe is complete without. A quick FYI, all items are from Asos. Oh and one more thing, this blogpost only includes the items that are essential for a girl like me, who takes inspiration from Blair Waldorf, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and classic Parisian style. The first thing that I think everyone should have is a white shirt. They smarten up a simple pair of trousers, or can be worn open over a bralet with the sleeves rolled up. They look lovely under any jumper with the collar showing and work well with loads of different necklace styles.
Whether it's a court, a peep toe or a sandal, I think every girl should have a pair of nude heels in her closet. In my own typical fashion, I have two - a barely-there sandal as well as a classic court (both new look) and they literally go with anything! Nude heels are also really good for elongating your legs which is handy for any of us who aren't 5'10 models.
Not quite as classic and lady-like as the other items on this list but this is more of a night-out essential than an everyday one. I do wear mine in the day aswell but it's mostly for a night-out, worn over a variety of bralets; v-neck, square-cut, white or printed. They're so cheap as well so definitely worth the investment!
Leather trousers are the ultimate bar-going or cocktail-night-out outfit, when you don't want to be dressed up enough for a club but feel like jeans are a bit too casual. They look amazing paired with some statement heels and a simple top - although I wouldn't suggest a real pair because they're mega expensive and easy to ruin if you are going bar-hopping where the possibility of spilled-drinks-on-leather is dangerously high!
As you should all know by now, I have an extensive coat collection that probably rivals Blair Waldorf's (although mine are like £40 each instead of £4,000 each but that's besides the point). And out of all my coats, if I had to pick one then I'd have to say that a neutral trench coat is the ultimate must-have, especially for spring. I also think a trench coat is very Victoria Beckham and when paired with some over-sized sunnies, is oh-so-very-Vogue.
