Fifty shades of fabulous

I read the book 3 years ago (well I actually read all the books twice), I've used the title for ample blogpost puns and today was finally cinema day; I finally went to see fifty shades of grey. Despite the bad reviews it was actually really good! It stuck to the book well, although it did miss about half of the scenes out (and the infamous elevator scene was a bit rushed) and the chemistry between Ana and Christian was good bar a few cringey scenes where you could tell they felt awkward. The soundtrack was absolutely incredible though and the songs were perfectly matched to each scene. Jamie Dornan was really hot too (obviously) although I did notice his Irish accent come through once or twice. I'd definitely recommend going to see it, but it ends on a cliffhanger so if you haven't read the books already then you'll definitely want to read the next book after seeing the movie. I did consider dressing for the occasion; no, not in loads of bondage gear, in fifty shades of grey. But then I realised that I don't actually own many grey clothes and that would probably make a boring outfit anyway so I went with my failsafe dogtooth option instead. I love wearing skater skirts, it always makes me want to twirl round like the princess that I am. This skirt was from miss selfridge and I wore it with this white embellished river island top tucked into it. I added this primark coat over the top because it works perfectly with all things skater style and I love the added touch of fur. I finished with black chunky shoes (new look) and then Velvet teddy lipstick by MAC. After the cinema, I went for lunch at Bills which is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. I love when they put strawberries on the edge of glasses of wine too, I think it's so cute. Then I finished up the day with a trip to Patisserie Valerie which is genuinely the best shop in Nottingham - if you've never been then get yourself down there now! Although you will be getting fifty shades of overweight - totally worth it!
