A walk on the wild side
Something very rare happened today - I actually had two titles that would've both worked and I had to struggle between the two! Normally it's a struggle to just think of the one! (the other was 'these boots were made for walking' but I prefer this one). Anyway, despite the fact that Nottingham hosts a uni with some of the top fashion courses in the country, it's still surprisingly non-fashion-forward. A lot of old people gave me dirty looks for my outfit and the complimentary looks were off pervy builders (not ideal) which is kindof weird if you think about it because the only skin I was showing was 1-2 inches of leg between my boots and skirt. Oh well, it's a good job I'm not overly bothered by what people think; I wore what I wanted to anyway which was this gorgeous dress (missguided) which is definitely a firm favourite of mine. It's very simplistic and is halfway between a shift style and a swing style so it hangs really nicely and I just love the leopard print ponyskin detail around the sleeves and collar (which is where the title I eventually landed on came from). I was planning to wear it with black tights initially, from a warmth point of view, but when I tried it on with the thigh high boots (new look), it looked too black. I'm a girl who loves wearing black eye makeup and black underwear and has a black heart but black clothes aren't my thing so much. So I decided to break it up with a couple of inches of skin showing - and the lack of tights didn't really affect how cold I was considering it was chucking it down with rain on my way to work which was enough to make my heart-of-ice even icier (I seriously can't wait for Spring, I can't cope with the cold anymore). I was wearing my favourite fur coat though which did an alright job of keeping me from freezing to death; it looks a suspicious brown colour in the photos but it's actually burgundy (as you probably know by now if you've read any previous blogposts) and was £55 from fashion union. I finished my outfit with my Michael Kors watch and Velvet teddy lipstick by MAC.
