Kisses for breakfast

I absolutely love going shopping at MAC - there's just something so much more enjoyable about going high end makeup shopping than normal makeup shopping. It's not like I shop there all that often because the only MAC stuff I really get is lipsticks, but this payday I decided to treat myself and go on a mini haul. The lipsticks were £15.50 each which is a lot more expensive than Boots brands for example, but they're really long lasting and I've never had to replace the same colour yet because none of them have run out. While everyone else was going crazy that velvet teddy was back in stock, I was on the hunt for a few different shades considering I got velvet teddy 4 months ago (#trendsetter I hear you say? Oh no wait that was probably Kylie Jenner).

This colour was my only impulse buy of the day - the other 2 shades were already on my wishlist. This is Spirit in the satin finish which is my favourite one because it's not as drying as a matte lipstick but really long lasting, unlike the lustre or cremesheen collections. This shade is actually quite similar to Velvet teddy but it's a bit darker and less pink with brown undertones which I really like, and if you go and look at my previous post you'll see it looks really nice with neutral eyeshadows.

As I mentioned in a previous blogpost, I was looking for a lipstick colour to match my current favourite nail varnish (Bourjois So laque! in 27 Beige glamour) and out of every brand I looked at, Twig by MAC was the best match! It's a gorgeous dusky pink colour with nude/brown undertones and it's a great every day colour. Again, it's a satin finish so it has a really nice creamy texture and lasts all day/night.

This shade is another that I went in knowing I wanted; Taupe in a matte finish. It's not as moisturising as the other two but it stays on for a ridiculous amount of time, like seriously you need a makeup wipe to get it off. I fell in love with the colour - I think it's perfect for this time of year, before it's acceptable to bring out all the spring colours. It's a really gorgeous warm nude/brown so I think it works well with my skin tone, although I'm not sure if it'd work as well if you've got pale skin so make sure to try it out first! That is the worst bit about lipstick shopping though, your hand ends up a very questionable colour from all the testers.
