Hello 2015!

Happy 2015 everyone! Okay so this blogpost may be a day late but that's only because I was too hungover to get out of bed yesterday and after all, better late than never! I'll tell you all about my new years eve night out but I thought I'd start with what I wore, both clothes and makeup wise. I'm pretty sure my dress is the prettiest thing I've ever owned! I got it from miss selfridge on black Friday (I've mentioned that about 100 times now, sorry not sorry) and it was supposed to be £120 but I got it for £54 which is incredible! I love the mesh fabric and it has an underlay with about an inch difference in the hem which I think works well and it's completely covered in tiny purple beads, aswell as the sequin pattern that covers the front and the arms. It also has an open back which I think is a really nice touch, although I did have to buy a clear-back bra to wear with it because my stick-on one didn't look right. None of my shoes really matched perfectly (despite the fact I have so many) so I just went with my black boots because I know they're comfy and paired them with my black shoulder bag. I finished with my silver watch and drop stud silver earrings, both from new look. In terms of makeup I decided the-bigger-the-better! For my nails I used No7 in Vivid violet and layered Barry M in Multi glitter over it (which is a great idea at the time until you have to try and get it back off again). For my eyes I used quite a lot of different palettes, aswell as my new real techniques brushes! I started with shade 2 in my Rimmel 023 beauty spells quad eyeshadow and blended it all over my lid, reaching quite close up to my brows in the inner corners. Then I added Bliss in Barcelona from my Sleek Romance palette round the outer corners and through my crease, and then added A vow in Venice in the centre of my eyelids from the same palette. I also added Creep from my Naked palette round the very outer corners and halfway along my lashline, and then Sin in the inner corners, before I blended it all together. I finished with Honeymoon in Hollywood from my romance palette in the centre of my lids because it's a gorgeous glittery shade and then I finished with shade 3 from my Rimmel palette in my tear ducts as a highlight. I also wore pencil liner along my lower lash line, felt tip eyeliner along my upper lashline and fake lashes. I completed my look with my Maybelline lipstick in 540 Hollywood red.

Because it was my first new years eve as an 18 year old I really wanted to make it a big one and go into town! It took us ages to decide on a plan but we finally decided to go to the Bowery Club in Nottingham, where they were hosting a New York glamour 1920s themed party night which was the perfect place to wear my massively embellished dress! They'd done the whole thing really well too - black and white balloons covered the ceiling and all the drinks were served in black and white glasses (although they were mega expensive because they pushed up the prices for NYE) and the bar staff would carry bottles of vodka or champagne through with sparklers attached, the guys dressed in white shirts and braces and the girls dressed in fringed dresses and 1920s hair bands. Everyone else stuck to the dress code really well too, the guys all in suits and the girls all in dresses, mostly sparkly or embellished. We had such a good night and the countdown to midnight was amazing and they dropped white and gold confetti all over us as we went into the new year (it went in your drink which was kind of impractical but never mind). And as you can see from all the pouty, eyes-closed photos, we all entered 2015 really sober!(ummm). If you read my latest blogpost then you'll know that I had a truly amazing 2014 and if my first few hours of 2015 are anything to go by then this year should be a really exciting one!
