Haulin' hell

It's been so long since I was actually able to do a haul-type blogpost because what with Christmas, birthdays, booking Amsterdam and going on countless nights out; my bank account hasn't been able to stretch to loads of new clothes. I swear I've actually had online shopping withdrawal symptoms and when I ordered a load a few days ago, I actually had to double check the card details (that has never happened to me before, I'm usually a pro). But don't worry, my addiction has been fed as I placed monster orders on both missguided and new look seeing as they were both doing 20% student discount (and while I'm not technically a student, my valid NUS card says differently). I've only included a few outfits in this post because I'm sure I'll be wearing some of the stuff on nights out in the near future so I didn't want to give any spoilers. Also, apologies about the weird lighting but it started snowing halfway through my photos so it suddenly got really dark.

Back to my typical self, I just couldn't help but order this zip-style skirt in 2 different colours. Although believe it or not, they were actually from different shops so it's just a coincidence. I'm starting to think about building my early spring wardrobe (fashion is always a few months ahead of reality) and so I went with this grey skirt because I think it's nice to start adding some alternatives to black. It was £22 from missguided and it's the most gorgeous fabric - I also love that it's got a tiny split up the front just below where the zip ends. I matched the grey skirt to the grey running through this pink checked shirt (also missguided, £25) which has a dropped hem and an oversized fit. Well I don't think it's technically meant to be oversized but I always buy a size up in shirts because I hate when they look tight. In Spring, I'll wear the outfit with bare legs and strappy grey sandals, but until then it's black tights and black chunky heels (new look).

This shirt-dress is in serious need of a wash and iron because the static and the creases were so bad and I wouldn't actually wear it out like that (obviously), but seeing as this was only for photo purposes, I thought it'd be fine. I am so in love with the colour of this! It's a gorgeous burnt orange and the length is just perfect (although the static kept making it stick to my tights and ride up, not ideal) - it was £28 so kindof expensive for a shirt but it'll look good from now all the way until next autumn so it's definitely worth it. It may look like it has pockets but it's actually just a layered fabric effect which I think looks really nice as it adds extra detail. I finished with black tights and black chunky shoes and then added my black floppy hat (primark) which I haven't been able to wear in ages because of the bad weather but I'm hoping that'll change soon!

Okay first of all I was definitely wearing the wrong bra for this top but never mind. Secondly, I was having a really bad hair day so by the time I got to these photos I was getting annoyed with it. I've been wanting a high neck top for a while now because those extra few inches of fabric provide vital warmth in winter and I really loved the look of this one. I did worry about looking like an escaped prison inmate when I ordered it but I think I managed to pull it off. It was from new look for only £5.99 so how could I say no! I paired it with the second one of these skirts that I got; this time from new look for £17.99 (so marginally cheaper). I love the copper kindof colour and the pocket detail, plus it's a really nice length. I finished the outfit with my crocodile boots from river island (£30 in the sale) which are finally being featured in an outfit post where you can see them in all their glory! As you can see, they have quite high heels for ankle boots which I love, although the high top does make them really uncomfortable when you walk down stairs in them.
