GRWM: feeling blue

I've never really done a GRWM post before (get ready with me, for anyone who doesn't know) because I usually make them into lifestyle posts so I thought I'd do it a bit differently this time. This is obviously a very belated post because this is what I looked like on Saturday night but I've only just got round to writing it up, sorry. I started with my makeup, as I always do, and I decided to try something quite a lot brighter than normal and went with a statement blue smoky eye (smoky, smokey? It's stopped looking like a real word whichever way I spell it). For this I started with my Lorac pro 2 palette and used the shade Navy as a base over my eyelid, leaving a small gap right in the inner corners so the lighter shade would show up better. I then used the shade Snow in the inner corners and blended it inwards to make a nice gradient effect. I then brought out my trusty Naked palette and used Creep in the outer corners for a bit of definition. Along my lower lashline, I used black pencil eyeliner (I used a rimmel one) and then went over the top of it with the bright blue shade of my 17 quad palette that you can see in my boxing day bargains post. I also used that shade as a highlight in the centre of my eyelid and then blended it all together and finished with black felt tip liner and false lashes. By the way, I know the second photo is out of focus but it was really hard to get a good photo that showed the colours of the eyeshadow properly. I don't wear foundation but I did add a light layer of matte bronzer all over my face to just even out my skin tone, and then I used my new contour palette (details in the same bargain blogpost) to add definition to my cheek bones. I finished the look with my Maybelline color sensational lipstick in 540 Hollywood red which is probably my favourite lipstick of all time and I wear it almost every time I go out.

To continue with my blue theme, I wore this gorgeous blue bodycon dress with black mess panelling and leather-look trim that was £30 from river island. I wore it with my trusty black boots (I never wear anything else on nights out) and black shoulder bag. I also painted my nails in navy blue, and they weren't completely dry when I took the photos which is why my hand is in a weird position. I finished off with a gold watch (new look) and two pairs of statement black stud earrings that I got from new look (you probably don't know I've got my ears pierced twice because I never really wear 2 pairs but these ones work really well together - you can see them in some of the many selfies we all took)
