Eye love my lorac palettes

Okay so this blogpost has been a long time in the making - like ever since my lorac pro palettes 1 and 2 arrived. It's also a really long blogpost so brace yourselves. I thought you might want to see a few possible makeup looks that can be created with these 32 shades (8 matte shades and 8 shimmer shades in each palette). I also want to apologize in advance for my inconsistent photography skills; my skintone ranges from white and dead to deadly orange.

The first look I created with the Lorac 1 was this shimmery smokey look - although the colours don't show up very well on the photos. I used Light pink as a base over my lid and then added Deep purple round the outer corners and through my crease. I also used the purple shade along my lower lashline aswell as Garnet which I added from the inner corner to halfway along my lashline. I like using shimmer shades along the lower lashline because I think it adds a nice highlight. I also added a highlight in the centre of my lid using the Gold shade.

Next I created a VERY minimalist look which I don't wear very often but I thought it'd be fun to try something different. I used the very neutral matte shades; Cream over my lid and Taupe through my crease. I added Espresso along my lower lash line because I like the shimmer shade look and when wearing eyeliner, it doesn't look as good with a dark shade underneath because it can close up your eyes and make them look smaller (which is not flattering for me seeing as I have small eyes anyway). I finished with winged eyeliner and mascara - I only did very small flicks because the smaller they are, the easier they are to get to match.

Then I wanted to create a very autumnal look (even though it's a bit late for that now) which would look perfect with a nude lip. I started with a Cream base over my lid and then used Garnet through my crease and round the outer corners in a cat-eye shape. I used Sable along my lower lashline and then added Black round the outer half of my upper lashline to add some definition.

I think out of the two palettes, the second is my favourite. I'm already in love with my Naked palette which has lots of neutral shades and warm colours so the first Lorac is quite similar to it in that way, whereas the second one has more vibrant colours and grey tones which I've been lacking in my collection so far.

Not 100% sure what happened to the colour of my face between the top photo and the bottom photos but never mind. This makeup is quite similar to my everyday style but with a bit of a twist. I used Mocha as my base and then applied Black to the outer corners which is pretty much what I wear everyday but using different palettes. I then used a mix of Black and Navy along my lower lashline (the twist part) which was quite striking and would really bring out blue eyes, if I had them which I don't. So maybe that was a bit of an irrelevant point.

I love the colour clash in this makeup look; I think khaki and burgundy go really well together. I started with Light brown over my lid and then worked Khaki through my crease and in the outer corners. I then added Plum as a highlight in the centre of my lid and also along my bottom lashline. I finished with black eyeliner along my upper lashline with very tiny wings to correct the shape of my eyes (that's a personal thing though, you might want to leave it un-winged).

I loved this smokey eye; it's a real classic and I'm loving matte shades right now. I used Cool gray (American spelling) as my base and added Black in the outer corners for some good definition. I used Cocoa along my lower lashline and then went heavy on the mascara to make my lashes stand out against the dark eyeshadow. This also looked really nice worn with a deep pink lip.
