Confessions of a shopaholic, alcoholic and bakeaholic
As you probably know by now, my blog titles are all either pop culture references or a play on words and today makes no exception - the first half is lifted directly from a film title that I actually think was based on my life; although if someone were to make a film of my life I would want Leighton Meester to play me instead of Isla Fisher because Blair Waldorf is my spirit animal. The first 'aholic' is self explanatory seeing as I go shopping on most of my days off. If you're wondering about the two other 'aholics', they are because I went out for drinks at lunchtime and then spent my afternoon baking a cake for my best friends birthday (I won't spoil the surprise because she hasn't seen it yet but I did use a bowl of frosting as big as my head to construct it). For all these mixed activities, I needed a suitable outfit, which in my case translates as not suitable or practical at all. I did some serious wardrobe reincarnation because this dress is really old (like featured-in-my-first-ever-blogpost kindof old)! I do really love it though and it's the kindof dress that works all season round because of the 3/4 sleeves and sage kindof colour - plus the fabric is thick so I wasn't too cold. I do think the waistline could do with being a bit lower to soften the shape of the dress but overall I still really love it and it was only about £20 from topshop! Despite my long morning shopping, I still went with heels, as I always do, in the form of these black new look chunky favourites (£24.99). I purposely picked a colour block outfit so that I could wear my dogtooth coat as my statement piece; it was £49.99 from missguided and I'm still so in love with it - the length especially because it looks so good with skirts, dresses and shorts. Despite the colour block, I didn't want to go completely plain so I accessorized with a statement pink and grey necklace that I got from primark for around £5 (I do love bargain jewellery). I finished with Velvet teddy lipstick by MAC and then my silver watch (new look) and silver rings (a mix of Pandora and primark because what's life without a little contrast).
