Cocktail o'clock

Saturday night is ladies night and so I went with a girly outfit for the occasion.  I'm so in love with this top that I got in the river island sale for only £12 down from £35! It's a gorgeous nude satin fabric (which unfortunately doesn't photograph well, especially when you use the flash) and the embellished collar is so beautiful. I also love the sleeve length, which came in kindof handy last night because it was freezing (*insert snowman emoji here*) and those extra few inches of fabric make a big difference! I wore it over snake print shorts (river island); normally I tuck tops in but the shorts are quite loose so it didn't look right - I finished the outfit with black boots (new look), nude clutch bag (new look) and rose gold watch. I felt really strange not wearing earrings but I thought it would be a bit too much with the embellished collar and I really didn't want to go for a pat-butcher-vibe.

Sorry for the crazy amount of selfies but I loved my makeup last night - it was quite different to what I normally wear on a night out. I haven't worn statement winged eyeliner in ages and so to really make it pop, I went with a more subtle shadow look. I used the shade Nectar from my Lorac 2 palette as my base and blended it towards my eyebrows and then added Sin from my Naked palette in the inner corners because I love mixing matte and shimmer shades. I added Buck from my Naked palette along my lower lashline and through my crease and then started to apply my liner. I use a felt tip liner rather than a liquid one because I think it gives you more control. The problem with winged liner is when you do one eye perfectly then realise you have to get the other eye to match! After a lot of stressing though I managed it, and then added false lashes and mascara. I finished by adding Snow from my Lorac 2 in my tear ducts as a highlight and then went with a nude lip - I used Spirit which is a gorgeous shade I just got from MAC (a blogpost on my new MAC purchases will be coming this week). I was going with a nude makeup look with lots of neutrals and brown shades so I went strong on the cheek contouring to fit in with the Kardashian makeup I was kindof channelling.

Last night was both really happy and kindof sad because it was the last time in a while that I got to see my bestie Laura because she went back to uni today (*cries*) - but atleast we had an amazing night to send her off. We went for a cocktail night and started in revolution which is one of my favourites (I got a sweetshop), and then went on to turtle bay where they have happy hour from 10 onwards so all the cocktails were 2-4-1 (and amazing too, frozen cocktails are my fave). Then we finished in cocotang which is sooo nice but mega expensive - not a good mix when I'm meant to be saving money for Amsterdam!

On a kindof unrelated note, something else exciting that happened yesterday was that I was featured in a newspaper! Okay so it was just the Nottingham post but I got a whole column on the first of the fashion pages and I think that's pretty exciting! No paparazzi please, for photos form an orderly queue #toofamousforyou.
