Bringing thursday back

Well I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms after having not been to a student night at rock city since before Christmas so my only option was to go out last night (well it would've been rude not to). I'm also getting withdrawal symptoms from online shopping because my bank account is still recovering from Christmas, aswell as the Amsterdam trip I just booked for Lauren's birthday (excited doesn't even cover it), so I had to try and rejuvenate some of the old clothes in my wardrobe. The chosen item was this halter neck bodysuit that I've had for about 2 years but only actually worn once; it was £16 from river island and I think the main reason I never wear it is because it's hard to find anything that goes with it. Atleast that's the only reason I can think of considering I like it so much; the psychedelic pattern, the mesh panels and the nice fit all add up to equal a wardrobe favourite. A bodysuit doesn't really work with skirts and the colourful pattern means it only looks good with a block colour (or non-colour in this case) so I went with my black leather shorts (missguided) and teamed them with black boots and black bag (both new look). I finished the outfit with gold watch and gold hoop earrings (also both new look). I went with a really bright makeup look (which is a lot harder than you'd think to capture on camera) by using the Storm cloud shade from my Sleek storm palette as a base, and then added Marry in Monte Carlo from my Sleek romance palette from the inner corner to the centre of my lid and blended them together. I added Creep from my Naked palette round the outer corners to add definition and then used the shade Snow from my Lorac 2 palette in the tear duct as a nice highlight. I finished by adding Marry in Monte Carlo along the inner half of my lower lashline, over black pencil eyeliner and then used a felt tip eyeliner along my upper lashline and added false lashes. I completed my makeup with a matte bronzer and then my favourite lipstick; Maybelline 540 Hollywood red. If you're thinking that Lauren's outfit looks oddly familiar it's because it is; the shirt is mine (missguided), the shorts are mine (missguided), the belt is mine, the necklace is mine and even the lipstick is mine. You know that saying about how best friends share everything? Well that's not true, best friends steal everything! (and leave half their stuff at your house in the process of getting ready, seriously Lauren needs her own drawer).

So then today, I went out for a hungover lunch with my other bestie Laura, who I've got to make the most of seeing before she goes back to uni next week! (*cries*) I wore this river island skirt (£30) which I'm seriously in love with - whoever said horizontal stripes make you look fat had clearly never come across this skirt because I think it's really flattering and a really nice length (although the pattern designer didn't think it all the way through because the bottom stripe is black, meaning that when paired with black tights it makes the skirt look a LOT shorter than it actually is). I let the skirt do the talking and kept to a plain top half with this fluffy white jumper (missguided), I love the cropped length because it works so well with all my skirts and shorts. I added my go-to shoes (new look, £24.99) and camel coat (primark £23). I was going to add a splash of colour with my burgundy fur coat but it wasn't actually too cold today and I thought that if I paired fur with fluff then I might actually melt. We went for a cute lunch at the pudding pantry which is a little café with the cutest décor ever. I got a pulled pork sandwich which was absolutely huge I couldn't even finish it and a hot chocolate; what I love about the place is everything's homemade - the bread, the slaw, even the marshmallows! An even sweeter treat was that the waitress mixed up our bill with the table next to us so instead of paying like £12 each, we only paid £4 each. I must've earned myself some good luck - although I'm not sure the table next to us would agree when they got our bill...
