OOTD: double dogtooth

Right back in the early days of my blog, I loved dogtooth and here I am, almost a year down the line still loving it! Loving it so much in fact that I went double whammy with it for todays outfit. I think clashing prints are a hard thing to master so if you're not confident just stick to one print and the rest plain. Normally when I wear clashing prints, I wear two different ones so I thought it would be fun to try 2 of the same. It wouldn't have worked so well if the print was exactly the same but the shorts are small dogtooth and the scarf big so they looked good together. I got the scarf from primark for about £10 a few weeks ago and just haven't got round to wearing it but it's really nice and big so it kept me warm without me needing to wear a coat (not as if I haven't got about a million to choose from but you know). It'll also work as a kindof blanket wrap if you unfold it and wear it over your shoulders with it belted at the waist - a look I'm sure you'll see me try in the coming autumnal weeks. The shorts were from river island for £30 and river island is my ultimate go-to for any shorts or skirts (as you may have noticed by the sheer amount that I buy) because I just find them to be the perfect fit. These are also a nice thick fabric so ideal for this time of year! I obviously had to wear them with black tights now its getting colder and colder - my favourites are primark and they're super cheap so it doesn't matter if you have to keep buying them. I stuck with monochrome by wearing my absolute favourite jumper; this 'jadore' black one from missguided (I think it was somewhere around £20). I love a good slogan jumper and the neckline on this one makes it perfect for layering over shirts - today I went with white to fit in with my colour palette. I am also so excited to show you these new shoes! New look are outdoing themselves in the shoe department right now, they've just got so many nice ones and I've been looking for a nice pair of autumn shoes for a while now. The issue is that I don't want another pair of boots because I've got so many, but I also can't have sandals or peep-toes, not only because I have so many of those aswell but because I'll probably get frost bite! Factor in that I don't wear flats and don't want to spend huge amounts and the choice is pretty limited - so you can imagine how happy I was when I found these beauties for only £24.99! I love the chunky platform heel and being black, they'll go with anything! They also elongate your legs when you wear them with black tights like I did today which is always a bonus. I did overestimate how big my feet are though because I went with a size 7, seeing as last time I got a size 6 from new look they were too small, and it turns out this pair are a little big (as you can probably see in the photos)! I guess you can't win but better to be a bit big than too small. That's what I get for doing all my shopping online I suppose; maybe one day I'll put down the laptop and actually go shopping but that will be when natural selection has taken out all the slow walkers.
