This is what dreams are made of
I have an exciting announcement to make - I've got myself my dream job! I am now officially a fashion, marketing and social media intern for the brand new online clothes company Little Black Wardrobe! It's come at the perfect time too because I really needed to change my blog description seeing as I'm no longer a student (although I did manage to renew my student card for another year by some miracle so discount shopping here I come), and 'shopaholic struggling to work out what to do with my life' doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. I've wanted to work in fashion for a long time now (after the dodgy-yet-surprisingly-non-clichéd childhood dreams of an author, a makeup artist and a maths teacher; I was never a delusional child, I knew that I'd never make it as a popstar with my awful singing voice) but I always figured I'd have to move to London or atleast Manchester before I could realise that dream. Everyone says that getting a job is as much about luck as it is about skills and that's definitely true! I can't believe how lucky I've been to get a job in fashion in Nottingham and I'm so excited to start. I'm kindof philosophical and I love cute life quotes and motivational phrases and one of my favourites is 'do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life' - I'll let you know if that's true! Obviously I couldn't let the whole thing go by uncelebrated so I went out and celebrated the only way I know how - with good food and lots of alcohol! I wore my Valentino-esque playsuit (miss selfridge £45) which I am so in love with and it's great because it's got so many different colours in it that it's easy to find accessories that match. I paired it with my nude caged heels from new look (£27.99) and my Choies mint green coat.
I did my makeup slightly differently today and I bet you'll never guess what I used for it? Of corse, my Naked palette by Urban Decay. If you don't have one yet then what are you messing around at, go and buy one. I used Toasted (my favourite shade) as my base and applied it over my whole eyelid, and then added Sin in the inner corners to highlight and then created a 'cut crease' style by applying Hustle just above the crease of my eyelid and then round the outer corners. I finished with Creep along the lower lash line using a fine edged brush, going from the outer corner and stopping about 3/4 of the way from the inner corner. I also took it slightly past the outer corner, following the line from my eye to create a tiny flick. I then finished the look with false eyelashes (Katy Perry for Eylure in Banging Beauty) and my No7 lipstick in Ginger rose. Unusually for me, I went with silver jewellery - my cute little pink flower stud earrings (£1.50 from primark), my silver new look watch and my beautiful flower Pandora ring. I painted my nails using Maybelline Forever strong pro in 135 Nude rose.
I'm a big fan of Italian food as you should know by now, so we went to Ask Italian which I hadn't actually been to before (amazing considering I eat out so much, you'd think I'd of used up all the restaurants in Nottingham by now) and it was amazing. I definitely won't be eating (or even moving) for about 3 days but it was worth it. We also got a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate, which is basically Italian champagne and was kindof expensive. But 'when in Rome' and all that (well, an Italian restaurant). For any wine experts that are getting ready to pipe up; yes I know that Prosecco should be served in a flute glass but these glasses were so cool I couldn't not use one. And besides, I like my wine in large measures!
