Red red wine

An ironic blogpost title seeing as I can't actually stand red wine, I'm a white wine drinker. Wow I'm now so typical-white-girl that I can only drink white drinks. I am actually really excited for the return of the white hot chocolate at costa; I actually need help. Anyway, I know I said I was trying to stay away from burgundy this season to a certain extent, and I've stuck to that! This isn't burgundy; it's wine. And what a beautiful shade it is! It's so rich and warm and works perfectly on a midi skirt. I love midi skirts right now because they're super flattering and give you a nice silhouette and they're a good length for when it's a bit chilly. This one was only £19.99 from new look and it's a really comfy waffle fabric. I teamed it with all black everything; black caged heels (£27.99 from new look), black floppy hat (£8 from primark) and black lace bralet (£14.99 from missguided). I love these lace bralets that are everywhere at the minute because they're not too revealing but add nice detail to a simple outfit. I think you should always wear something slightly skimpier or tighter fitting when wearing a midi skirt - if you go with a baggy top or jumper then you'll just look swamped in fabric. I finished the look with a berry lip which is the lip colour of the season; I used a Ted Baker lip crayon which I have 5 of and absolutely love. There is also a nice berry shade in the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection and in the No7 range, or you could always just go straight to the top dogs of lipstick; go to MAC or NARS and you're bound to find the perfect berry shade for your skin tone.
