OOTD: Autumn bloom
Again, I'm a teensy bit late on showing you so this is another of my OOY (outfit of yesterday) posts. Seeing as yesterday was uncharacteristically sunny (to say it's now October and officially the depths of Autumn), I thought I'd make the most of my floral prints and wear them while I still can. I really struggle to find trousers that fit perfectly because I usually have to size up so they fit my bum/hips but then they end up being baggy on the waist or calves so I'm literally in love with new look trousers because they're such a perfect fit! They're well priced too - these floral pair were only £19.99! I'm a pink princess as well you know, but I love that this pair includes my colour of the moment aswell - baby blue. I stuck to a mainly cool colour scheme and went with lots of blues. This fine knit navy top from new look is perfect for this time of year when you want a bit of extra warmth without looking too wintery. I added my collarless baby blue boohoo coat (£45) which always makes me feel chic and sophisticated and then finished with grey strappy sandals (new look, £19.99) and Michael Kors watch.
Seeing as yesterday was my first day off work all week, I spent it the only way I know how; shopping. Obviously I don't have a bottomless pot of money and it's not payday until Thursday so I didn't buy a lot but I did get a few cute little bits. The start of the new month means different things to different people; maybe the fact it's Halloween, or maybe it's your birthday month. I however, see the start of each new month as serious fashion inspo because it's the day all the new magazine comes out! I stocked up; Cosmo, Glamour, Company (the last one *sob*) and In Style, which I don't normally get but the shop didn't have the new Vogue yet and Leighton Meester (actress who plays Blair Waldorf my one true fashion icon and personal inspiration) was on the cover. I also treated myself to a Patisserie Valerie take-out. Some people treat themselves to an Indian or a Kebab or maybe a pizza; I however treat myself to cake and macarons. Sometimes I wonder if I could actually BE more of a clichéd white girl (read that sentence the way Chandler Bing would say it). I love macarons (there's always debate over the difference between a macaron and a macaroon - I think basically one is a meringue based sandwich cake made with almond flour and the other is a type of biscuit/cake that you usually make with coconut) - they are the ultimate indulgence and I always feel like Blair Waldorf when I eat them, plus they're not too expensive from Patisserie Valerie. I can't wait until I'm living in New York or Paris though and I can make daily trips to Laduree or Pierre Hermé; yes I do picture myself being a millionaire by then. However, by this point I had spent £10 on magazines and £20 on cake so maybe there's a good reason why I never have money. So because of my magazine-and-macaron splash out, these earrings nearly broke the bank being a whole £1.50! Primark continues to hold a place in my heart. These earrings are just so cute and girly and I can already tell how good they'll look with one of the many fur coats I plan to buy this winter. I also got another nice treat from primark but I'll show you that in a blogpost later in the week once I've finally blogged all my new stuff from last weeks deliveries! Oh the life of a blogger and shopaholic is so hard to keep up with...
