Kiss and makeup

I went on a bit of a makeup haul the other day and picked myself up some treats! Yes, I did spend a lot of money but I had a few vouchers so I got some money off and loads of advantage card points so I've got loads on my card to spend when I'm next in the mood for a shopping spree. I got a few bits that were essential - I needed a new mascara (I got the black and yellow one free for spending £10 on Rimmel products) and a black nail varnish because mine is suspiciously empty despite the fact I never wear it (I wonder where that could've gone Lauren?). I also needed a new bronze eyeshadow because my Rimmel ran out and it turns out they've discontinued it! (this always happens to all my favourites!!!) So I thought I'd give this Maybelline crème shadow a try instead; it's in the shade 35 On and on bronze.

I also really wanted a nude nail varnish after seeing the likes of Kendall Jenner and Millie Mackintosh rocking them on instagram in nail photos that are now being referred to as 'nelfies' (and you thought belfie was bad). Seeing as the Maybelline color show polishes are my favourites, I thought I couldn't go wrong with it and I was right! This nude shade in 254 Latte is a really nice colour although it does need 2 or 3 coats to build it up properly. I wasn't actually looking to buy a new lipstick but this one caught my eye; it's by Bourjois and is part of their Rouge edition range in 31 Beige shooting. It's a really gorgeous dusky pink colour and is really close to my natural lip colour so it's really wearable - it's the perfect new daytime lipstick. It's a matte lipstick aswell so it stays on literally all day!

I was looking for a new eyeshadow palette for two main reasons, 1) I own mainly neutrals and not a lot of rich colours so I wanted to expand my collection and 2) I needed some Halloween colours. Because it was partly for Halloween purposes, I didn't want to spend quite as much as my Naked palette (RRP £37) but I was amazed I found these palettes for as cheap as I did! These Sleek palettes were only £7.99 for 12 colours! They make about 8 different palettes aswell with loads of shades to choose from; so I had to get 2! I dismissed the mega bright one straight away because that's more for festivals and stuff and I also didn't want the neutral collections because I've already got my Naked palette - eventually I went with the Vintage Romance palette and the Storm palette. The romance one because I loved all the jewel tones and precious metal shades and I'm wearing a lot of berry colours at the minute, and the storm one because of the greens and blues I could use for Halloween mixed with the earthy tones I could wear the rest of the year. I thought I'd experiment a little to show you the looks that can be done with the palettes (excuse the bad photo quality, the lighting was weird). With the romance palette, I used A Vow in Venice as my base colour over my eyelid then added Propose in Prague in the inner corners and Court in Cannes in the outer corners and added liner and lashes, and with the storm palette I used Dust storm as my base and then added Perfect storm in the inner corners and created a cat-eye shape by winging Electric storm around the outer corners and along my bottom lash line and then I finished with lashes again.
