Fashion blogger birthdays
I don't know about any of you, but I had such an amazing weekend! (yes this blogpost is coming to you a little later than planned). I started work at my brand new fashion job on Friday, which I already love, and then went out for my friend Staci's (belated) birthday on Friday night, had 3 hours sleep and went to work at my old job on Saturday (which I definitely don't love), came back home, had a 2 hour nap and then got ready to go out for my fellow-fashion-blogger Harley's birthday (the beauty from darling-vintage.blogspot.com). I already showed you my multiple berry outfits from Friday, and then on Saturday night I went with an accidental lingerie-inspired outfit; what with the pink satin and black lace. These shorts from missguided are really cute and comfy and are a simple way to dress up on a night out - the satin fabric and girly colour adds a little something to a simple outfit. I roughened them up a bit by pairing with this black lace bralet (missguided £15, also available at Topshop), black chunky heeled boots (new look) and black shoulder bag. I finished with smokey eyes, false lashes and pink lips, pink nails, gold watch and lots of gold midi rings.
I went out with Queen Harley (who looked every bit a gorgeous birthday girl), a load of her friends (half I already knew, half I hadn't met before but all of them were lovely) and Mia my oriental princess (who will be glad she's finally been featured on the blog). She also listened to my fashion wisdom when I told her to wear this gorgeous Topshop dress (weirdly I seemed to know everything that she owned) which I actually almost bought back in the summer; it's a light blue bodycon dress with coral tropical print and cut-outs down the side and I think it was around £45. Apologies for the bad photo quality, we probably should've thought about the lighting before we wasted loads of time taking selfies.
It was an amazing weekend but definitely not a cheap one! If going out two nights in a row wasn't bad enough, we went to 2 expensive cocktail bars on Saturday where I spent around £8 in each just for one drink! (anyone reading in London probably doesn't think that's expensive but trust me, it really is!) Well when you're a princess like me or a queen like Harley, only the expensive is good enough! - although maybe not on the last weekend before payday! Looks like I won't be going anywhere or buying anything until Thursday!
