Day to night: berry tones
It wasn’t entirely on purpose but yesterday I managed to rock berry tones from dawn until dark. As we all know berry tones are the 3rd best clothes-related kind of berry; Burberry is first and Mulberry takes second; and it’s a really nice autumnal look. The main berry pieces in each outfit are actually a two-piece so this blogpost also doubles up as ‘co-ords ways to wear’. It was really cheap aswell – the jacket was £24.99 and the shorts were £17.99, both new look. It’s a really nice rich berry colour and the fabric is gorgeous – I also love the collarless fitted style of the jacket and the scalloped edge detailing on the shorts. By the way please excuse my dodgy photos, both were taken when I’d lost daylight so I couldn’t shoot in my normal photo spot. Also apologies for the bad hair on the ‘day’ outfit, I was slightly windswept (okay make that very windswept). Oh and also my nails should’ve been painted berry for both outfits but I forgot in the morning and in the evening! I spent yesterday working at my new fashion and marketing intern job so I went with a smarter look, teaming my berry jacket with a monochrome outfit. I love these checked primark trousers because they’re super comfy and were only £12! You all know I have a soft spot for clashing prints, so this white top with laser-cut floral detail went perfectly. I added white strappy heels (£24.99 from misguided) and finished with berry lipstick (I used Kate Moss for Rimmel in 107) and silver oversized stud earrings (£3.99 from new look). The first thing I did when taking the outfit into the night time was to sort out my hair (of course) and darken my makeup. I did a smokey eye using a gorgeous new eyeshadow I got from the body shop last week and I’ll be posting a ‘how to’ at some point next week. Because I went with brighter and heavier eye makeup (I was wearing false lashes aswell), I swapped the berry lipstick for a slightly subtler shade; Maybelline color sensational in 540 Hollywood red. I wore the other half of the two-piece and matched it to one of my miss selfridge £12 bargain racer-style crops. I’ve got quite a few but this is probably my current favourite – the black, berry and pink is so perfect for autumn and I finished with black accessories; black boots and black shoulder bag (both new look).
