Last of the summer wine

Our family are obviously not very clear on the definition of summer, seeing as my mum planned an 'end of summer' BBQ for the end of September. We did actually end up being really lucky with the weather though because it was nice and sunny all day! We drank lots of wine, and ate way too much food (my mum made enough to feed the entire population of the Ukraine) which was set up on one half of our table tennis table. Who said it couldn't be multi-functional? One of our family friends also brought along their 9 week old baby black Labrador which is literally the cutest thing I've ever seen! (he was only in a dog cage because he kept stealing food and running off with it). It wasn't really warm enough to sit out in the garden all day in a skirt or shorts so I opted for white jeans (Topshop, £36) instead because they're warm and yet still fresh and summery. I paired them with a lilac cami (£9.99 from new look) and this gorgeous primark necklace which was only £6 and matched the lilac of my top perfectly. Because it was cold when the sun went in, I added this new look checked jacket (£29.99) but rolled the sleeves up to stop it from looking too wintery. It's really not easy to dress for a summer BBQ in the middle of Autumn! I finished with my favourite strappy grey and black heels (new look £19.99) and then lilac nail varnish and pink lipstick in No7 Classic rose.

Along with loads of family, family friends, their husbands and wives, their kids and their pets, there were also two of my best friends Lauren and Staci. I promise we don't normally take such embarrassing selfies but I had more than a whole bottle of wine to myself and those two had pretty much the same so the class and sophistication went out the window a little bit. It's normal for it to be lacking on a Thursday night (Thursday is the new Friday after all) or a Saturday night but a Sunday daytime is a new one. Atleast I don't have work tomorrow.
