Flower power trousers
So the summers gone and the skirts and shorts are going further and further into the depths of our wardrobes; what do we wear instead? Just because the flowers are disappearing and the leaves have started falling off the trees it doesn't mean they have to fall right out of your wardrobe too! Flower trousers are so hot right now and these are my top 3 must-haves for the new season.
This black pair with white, grey and pink print are from new look and are only £19.99!! The fit is gorgeous and the waffle fabric is really comfortable - although it is quite thin so these are an early-autumn or late-autumn-with-a-coat kindof pair. The print also has a kindof oriental feel to it which you know I'm a big fan of. I matched the grey in the flowers to the grey in my latest favourite shoes (again new look, only £19.99!) and then matched the white parts to my favourite stressed-but-well-dressed clutch bag. I finished with a simple black cami, although if it was a bit colder I'd add my pink missguided jacket too.
Icy blue is my colour for the season - perfect seeing as I'm such an ice queen. And what makes for a more perfect contrast then baby blue and burgundy? I know I said I was going to try and stay away form burgundy for autumn because it's a cliché but I had a moment of weakness (and I'm sure there'll be lots more moments to come) and bought these gorgeous burgundy trousers with white poppies and blue detailing from river island for £40. They are quite expensive but they literally (ok maybe not literally) scream luxury. The perfectly tailored fit and the thick satin fabric show the good quality and the black corner pocket detail adds a nice finish. I matched the rest of the outfit to the baby blue detail with simplistic new look ice queen attire; baby blue faux-suede court heels (£19.99) and baby blue waffle top (£14.99). The 3/4 sleeves on this top are perfect for this time of year too because it means you don't really need a jacket.
Normally I'm not a natural kindof girl; makeup over bareface, false lashes over mascara, hairdye over au natural; but the naturistic (pretty sure I've just added a word to the English language, and I mean naturist in the context of 'like nature' and not 'likes to walk round naked') feel to this colour scheme gets a big thumbs up from me. These trousers are to die for! I love the warm neutral colours and tailored fit - again, £40 from river island which is expensive but these are an investment worth making. I added nude court heels (new look £19.99) and white cami (Topshop £16) to keep the outfit simple and let the trousers be the statement, then contrasted with this mint green coat from Choies. My coat collection currently stands at a whopping 14 and is ever-growing. Someone needs to stop me! (or buy me another of the coats off my wishlist?)
