Check me out
I don't know if it was a case of good luck, good karma (for me being such an amazing person) or just a happy accident but whatever it was I used it to my naughty advantage. I've been lusting after this checked jacket (hence the title) from new look for a while now but my shopping list is so long that I hadn't got around to buying it yet. On payday I ordered a load from river island, miss selfridge, Topshop and new look (minus the jacket), and when my new look package arrived there was an Aztec printed jacket in there. At first I thought it was the wrong item and I'd have to go through the hassle of sending it back but it was extra! An extra little jacket had found its way into my parcel. Well this was bound to happen sooner or later purely based on the laws of probability and the amount of online shopping I actually do (it's really not healthy I should probably see someone about it). The jacket really wasn't to my taste but it was a size 8 so pretty much my size so I left the tags on and took it into my nearest new look store and said it was a gift that I wanted to return. It was £15 so the refund bundled together with my student discount meant that I only paid £12 for this £30 jacket! I like to think of it as a little early-season-win. And so my coat collection continues to grow...
Monochrome is back for the Autumn and it's bigger and better than ever. Because of the black and white checked print, I played it fairly simple with the rest of the outfit. Autumn is officially here; my black jeans have been brought back out of hibernation! (Topshop, £36). I love slogan tees and they can look amazing when styled right. You have to be careful to stick to the right side of the line between high-end-fashion and high-school; if you don't dress them up enough they can look a bit too casual (in the bad kindof way). If you just go by the rule 'wear high heels' then you should be fine. Come to think of it, that should just be a general rule of life. I love the slogan on this top, 'more issues than vogue', and it was only about £5 from eBay. I also love the 'fashion blogger' tees and sweats that new look and river island are doing at the moment. I finished the look with these gorgeous missguided heels (£34.99) and silver jewellery.
I was just planning to come up with two different outfits but it's kindof ended up being a day-to-night kindof thing. Let's just go with it. I changed it up for this outfit, wearing white on the bottom half and black on the top, although I kept it the simplest it could possibly be. These scuba shorts are missguided and are so comfy! (although the zips a little awkward because of the thick seams), and they do them in blue and black aswell as white. They've definitely been an essential for me this summer both in the day and for going out at night. I paired them with this basic missguided black bralet (£9.99) and black heeled mules from primark (£14) which are so beautiful yet so painful (wear at your own risk, caution: will cause blisters). I finished it off with my beautiful stressed-but-well-dressed clutch bag because this outfit felt like it needed a slogan too. In fact both slogans amount to the idea that I need some sort of mental help. I'm actually really fine. I promise!
