Bank holiday vibes

Well I hope you all had as good of a bank holiday as I did. In stereotypical fashion, me and the girls went out on the Sunday night. However, I think most people do that because they have no work on the Monday for once. I still had work but went out anyway which turned out to be a harder task than I first thought. I wore this river island skirt which I still really love and isn't overly summery so it looks good even when it's cold (I think England has completely given up on the notion that august is a summer month; it's been freezing and raining for weeks now). It was only £18 and the scuba fabric makes it super flattering (although it does ride up all the time so I spent a lot of the night pulling it back down). I wore it with this high neck white crop top from missguided which was only £5.99 in the sale! (I just had to buy it in baby blue aswell), then I added my white stressed-but-well-dressed clutch bag which is one of the great loves of my life and wardrobe. Yes I know - the boots don't exactly go and I should've worn white shoes but seeing as my Schuh gladiators didn't look right and my la moda sandals are still in their Hawaiian resting place, I had to wear the black boots. As I always do, I wore my hair straight and added lots of gold midi rings and gold hoop earrings.

On nights out, I always do smokey eyes and add fake eyelashes and the bank holiday was no exception. I experimented with my new Naked palette for my smokey eyes and wore my Banging beauty Katy Perry eyelashes, which are my current favourite. I also took the opportunity to try out my newest MAC lipstick that I bought in America. It's called Plumful and is part of the sheen collection which I love as it's like halfway between lipstick and gloss; the matte lipstick tends to make my lips feel dry. The colour is lush and matched my purple outfit like a dream.

I went out with 3 of my best girlfriends; Katie, Katie and Staci and we went to a few different bars, starting in beeston where we live and then going onto the bars in town. We went to wetherspoons where they have 2 for £12 on cocktail pitchers, Revolution where they have 2-for-1 on cocktails with a student card and then the living room which was 2-for-1 cocktails as they were having a closing down party. I'm a firm believer in 'it's not always what you know but who you know' and Katie knows a lot of useful people. She knew a bartender in the Living room so we got cheap drinks and we got into the VIP area for free where we got free Sambuca shots (I hate Sambuca with a passion but a free drink is a free drink), and she knew a bartender in BZR, where we went afterwards, so we got our vodka and mixer in quadruple measures. Needless to say, I wished I could've stayed in bed all of Monday because I felt so disgusting but duty called and I had to go to work. Let's just say I've never been happier than when the clock struck 10 and I could go home and crawl back into bed. They do say every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so having such an amazing night on Sunday meant for an awful day on Monday but it was worth it. We sent the last bank holiday of the year out with a bang.
