Crew on tour

It's what I'm sure you've all been waiting for, to hear about my very first girls holiday in Magaluf! Warning: to continue reading is to put yourself at serious risk of dying of boredom - this is guaranteed to be an extremely long entry.

We went as a group of six; me, Sian, Staci, Lauren, Katie and Katie (we refer to them as big Katie and little Katie don't ask why), and we were all like excitable kids by Thursday lunchtime when we arrived at east midlands airport. We've all been best friends for the last 7 years although I've known most of them for 13 years (that makes me feel weirdly old), and we booked a week all-inclusive in the Flamboyan Caribe in Magaluf with Jet2Holidays. The holiday cost £575 for the flights, room, transfers and all-inclusive board and then we each spent about 300 euros (where the hell is the euro symbol on the keyboard?!?!) while we were out there. Going out drinking and getting 5 hours sleep at the very maximum every night has pretty much killed me off but it was so worth it, and we've all become closer since the holiday which is cute.

Unlike most people who go to Magaluf, we wanted to make the most of the daytime aswell as the night (plus we all wanted a good tan). Our rooms were so incredible (we got 2 triple rooms and I shared with Lauren and big Katie) - we didn't even pay for sea view and we ended up with perfect sea view and huge balcony's. Staci, Sian and little Katie ended up with the biggest room in the whole hotel. Just to give you an idea, the top left photo is their balcony! Everyone thought it was a hotel bar terrace or something. It was perfect for pre-drinks and catching a bit of extra sun if it was your turn to go last in the shower. We also bought lylo's to sunbathe on the beach so we didn't have to pay for sunbeds or get our towels buried in sand. We also did a couple of day time activities; we spent one day at the waterpark and another day souvenir shopping and another day we rented pedlo boats and went out to the little island that you can see in the bottom right photo (I got forced to pedal for pretty much the whole hour and a half trip there and back because I go running nearly every day so they argued that I'd be fine and my legs wouldn't ache, which fyi they did).

It wouldn't be a trip to Magaluf without doing a certain number of cliché things! These clichés include attending a foam party and ruining the Velcro fastening on your favourite white La Moda sandals in the process (currently crying about the whole thing),  making a fool of yourself by drunkenly dancing on a pole, attending a paint party (which was my favourite night) and participating in games, sex or otherwise. Staci volunteered me for a game where the guys get to spank the girls and the girls get 2 slaps to the face in return. We also met the cliché of bumping into someone you know, seeing as everyone goes to Magaluf at the same time. We bumped into the friends of my biggest fan on the BCM steps (yes billy I mean you), and they actually said 'it's jenni from the block'. It's a good job my own name is part of my blog name or that would've been slightly more awkward. The only cliché we didn't join in with is going on a boat party. They were like 50 euros and I'm pretty sure I get sea-sick so I didn't want to risk mixing that with alcohol.

Speaking of my blog, my friends like to regularly take the mick out of my poses (in particular the over-the-shoulder one and the crouching down one I've only done once in 'fresh as a daisy') so they decided to copy them. I think they got them pretty spot on, what do you reckon?

I was also very happy that we met two American guys while we were out there, seeing as I've always had an obsession with American films, TV and famous people. My main two obsessions are Friends and Gossip girl, both of which are set in Manhattan in New York, so the fact that this guy was from there made it even better. He was from the lower east side, so that's gossip-girl-enough for me. He also found it hilarious that in England we call girls 'birds' which was so cute.

It also worked out really well that the lads half of our friendship group crossed over with our holiday by 3 days so we got to go on the bar crawl and to the paint party with them (who I've also known for atleast 7 years if not 13). The 5 lads; Reece, Sam, Mitch, Joe and Joe (yes we have two Joe's and two Katie's so life can get confusing) make our group pretty much symmetrical with lads and girls so it worked really well for a group holiday.

As you can see, I was massively proud of myself for having a photo holding a parrot (it might be a parakeet I can't tell the difference). The guy wanted to charge 10 euros to have a photo standing next to 5 parrots but as always, I did things my own way. So I paid 2 euros to hold the parrot and take my own photo. I think he's quite the pretty poser what do you think? (the parrot not the weird man obviously)

Out of all the nights, I think the last night was my favourite. We started by going out for a cute "family" meal overlooking the sea to celebrate our last night, then we went back to our huge balcony for pre-drinks before heading out for the night. We paid 30 euros for MCP, which was an unlimited bar in 5 different venues, ending up in Carwash for the paint party. It was just the best fun (although very painful if the paint went in your eyes) and we got free t-shirts to protect our own clothes a little bit which doubled as a cute souvenir. Then when my hair was so crusted up with paint that it couldn't hack any more, we got some more drinks and headed down to the beach where we bumped into our neighbours who were in the hotel room two rows above ours. We saw their hotel room and we definitely got some kindof VIP treatment, especially since our balcony was about 2748953829 times the size of theirs!

So our great master-plan was to just go straight through and pull an all-nighter seeing as our transfer was at 8am and there was no point in sleeping after washing the paint out of our hair. BAD idea - anyone who is considering doing this then don't. I've never felt more sick than I did on that transfer coach and I could barely manage any food at the airport. We also had to run to our gate on last boarding call because, as you can see, we were not exactly feeling awake or alert. I also apparently spent most of the flight home (which was delayed by 2 hours; I always have such bad luck) falling asleep on the shoulder of the guy sitting next to me. I bet he was glad to get off that plane. If you are reading this and you are the guy I feel asleep on then I am very sorry. When I got home all I wanted was a big subway and my bed. What I didn't expect though was not just how much I'd miss being on holiday, but how much I'd miss being around everyone all the time! It's feels so weird to eat alone and to get ready without telling anyone what you're wearing first and to go in the shower without first having a huge debate about whose turn it is to go first. I've got serious holiday blues so it's a good job I go away again on Wednesday (although I think that will make me miss my friends even more). I actually can't believe how badly I miss everyone and everything about the holiday. Thanks for an amazing holiday guys and I can't wait for the next one!
