We drink and we dance and we play

I actually can't believe what an amazing birthday week I've had!! I was hoping that after Fridays really long blogpost, that this one would be short and snappy but I was so wrong. Apologies in advance for how long it's gonna have to be but there's a lot of pictures to keep you entertained.

As I mentioned, me and my friends went out to Long Eaton on Friday for my first legal night out! We went to a couple of bars but they were fairly empty we so spent most of the night in manhattans where we bumped into two of my friends from work, and I got a free bottle of champagne for my birthday. It was probably a quarter of the price of the Bollinger I had at my tea party but it was still nice and free is free afterall! Although suspiciously then, everyone seemed to have one and it seemed to be everyone's birthday. I have a feeling that most people just took advantage of the fact they don't check your ID when you say it's your birthday.

And as the law states; we ended the night with a takeaway. Me and Lauren (she was the one in the first photo) spent the longest 15 minutes ever in dominoes waiting for our pizza and I only managed to eat 3 slices of mine because she forced me to get a medium so we could do buy one get one free. It was amazing though and saved me from being hungover for Saturday!

For my pre-drinks and first legal night out in Nottingham, I wore this amazing missguided dress! The pink and lilac blossom print is so perfect and I love the asymmetric hemline. I matched my accessories to the white edging of the dress by adding my white cleated sole new look heels (£39.99) and my brand new stressed-but-well-dressed clutch bag. It's originally from Zara, although they had already sold out when I got mine. There's loads on eBay though and I managed to get mine for just under £30. I was even happier with my shoes when I got to the end of the night and they hadn't torn my feet to shreds like most of my heels. They are definitely a must-have! I also added my gold watch (I didn't trust myself to wear my new Michael Kors on a might out) and midi rings and then finished the look with Maybelline Color show nail varnish in 324 Love lilac and my No7 lipstick in Classic rose.

The effort my parents put into every little detail of my birthday is incredible. My mum made cake pops covered in white chocolate and edible pink glitter (soooo me) and my dad has spent ages making ice shot glasses! We weren't sure if they were going to work but they went down amazingly and they look so good, especially when you do brightly coloured shots. The first photo was salted caramel popcorn flavoured vodka which weirdly tasted of digestive biscuits but was quite nice. The only flaw was that they made your fingers soooo beyond cold! We just about managed to take a photo before having to down them and put the glasses on the table to save ourselves from frost bite.

I also had the most incredible birthday cake I've ever seen/tasted! Patisserie Valerie is one of my favourite places ever and they do the most amazing macarons, so when choosing where to get my birthday cake from there was no competition. I got the white chocolate dream gateau which was layers of chocolate cake and layers of vanilla cake, with chocolate and vanilla creams and then covered in white chocolate curls and a white chocolate rose and chocolate covered profiteroles. I think it's safe to say me and my family will be living off the rest of it for the remainder of the week. I also have some more permanent birthday reminders like all the gorgeous cards I've received. And I can't believe how oblivious I was on Saturday night - all night my dad was getting people to write me birthday messages on a big canvas and I never noticed anyone disappear off! It's so sweet and something I'll be able to look back on in years to come.

Some of you might recognise this beauty from darling-vintage.blogspot.co.uk - it's my gorgeous fellow blogger Harley! We decided we finally had to get a photo together - I loved her pink new look dress and I thought we colour co-ordinated well with the pink. There was a massive queue outside Forum after the football but because Harley knows literally everyone, she got us all in on queue jump and guest list. She also managed to get me another free bottle of champagne for my birthday (my second in two nights!)

Okay so I know that blogging all my presents seems really spoilt and showy-offy but I've had so many beautiful things that I couldn't not share them with you all. And I love that my friends and family understand me so well - proven by the gorgeous clothes I got. In fairness I did chose the heels and bag myself (I've been allowed to blog in them a couple of times but then my mum stole them back and wrapped them up) but the rest was all chosen for me. I just love the pastel colours and floral print of the kimono from my mum and it'll be perfect on holiday. I also thought it was really sweet that everyone seemed to use my blog for present ideas. My mum went to town with my blog up on her phone and bought me this river island playsuit from my Lemon print blogpost and Katie found me this beautiful white skirt with floral crochet hemming from Zara and then looked through all my blogposts to make sure I didn't already have it or anything similar.

Every Christmas and birthday, I get things linked with money to try and encourage me to save up. Unfortunately it hasn't worked so far but maybe this will be the year everything changes! I love my new clutch bag and purse which match each other and my best friend decorated this money pot with letter stickers to spell out 'Jenni and Lauren's winter holiday fund' because we really want to squeeze in an extra holiday before the years up. I also love this little electronic savings pot - it's so clever! It's just like a real ATM and you have to insert the card to access anything. It also counts all your money as you put it in and you have to use a pin code to get any money back out. When I opened it there was a pre-paid credit card in it but my parents wouldn't tell me how much was on it and so they forced me to go to the real ATM to check. They had put 250 euros on for my holiday and I'm under very strict instructions not to blow it on clothes and to save it for holiday spending money. Does buying holiday clothes count as using it for my holiday?

I absolutely love books and DVD's and I don't remember the last Christmas or birthday that I didn't get a load. I need to read The fault in our stars mega quickly because the film comes out on the 19th and I can't see the film before reading the book. It'll be quite a challenge because even though I love reading, I am a seriously slow reader. I'm also collecting all the classic Disney films and so I got 5 new ones to add to my collection aswell as a portable DVD player and the latest hunger games film. I also got the complete Gossip girl collection because I am so obsessed with it and my parents are sick of me watching it on Netflix on the family TV in the living room (I've watched it twice all the way through already). Knowing how obsessed I am; they also made me this plaque that's exactly the same as in the Van Der Woodsen apartment, which I love!

I also got loads of cute makeup and home things including new nail varnishes in my latest favourite brand and a tangle teezer which I desperately need because my hair gets so knotty when it's wet. I also got cute cushions and a cookie stamp and matching tin because my grandma knows how much I love baking (although I should probably wait until after I come back from holiday until I start baking again if I want to look good in a bikini)

Because I turned 18 I got a lot of cute sentimental presents. I got quite a few photo albums and photo frames (Lauren's letter sticker handy work again and a cute photo from my 16th birthday), and then I got some cute little books and a plaque from my grandma which sums up the views that we share about life; to enjoy everything and regret nothing. My favourite was the champagne bottle photo frame from my mum and dad. When I was a little kid, my favourite quote ever was 'constant as the stars above, always know that you are loved' from the Barbie Rapunzel film. My parents used to write it on everything for me and so for my 18th, they got the finishing line '... you are loved' (the whole quote wouldn't fit) engraved on the silver part underneath the photo. My dad also took a photo of my first ever legal drink to put in the frame for me which was so beyond cute.

I can't believe how spoilt I've been; my biggest presents consisted of an iPhone 5s, a new camera to replace the one that I've broke the on/off button on, a flower Pandora ring (Lauren said she tried one on in the shop and then bought me the next size up because she knows I haven't got the daintiest of hands which was both insulting and funny) and a rose gold Michael Kors watch which I am beyond in love with. My friends and family have all been way beyond generous and by the end of the weekend I had nearly £3000 aswell as all my presents. It's safe to say it's a birthday I'll never forget and if this weekend is anything to go by; I think I'm going to enjoy being an adult!
