Print of the moment: easy peasy lemon squeezy

Put down those tartan leggings, put away that dogtooth top and forget that geometric skirt; summer prints are well and truly here. Along with florals (the long-running champion of summer prints) and tropicals (one of my current obsessions), there's a new hot print in town; lemon print! I've clearly got a fruity obsession at the minute because along with my watermelon and orange print bikinis, I'm now crushing over all things lemon print. As you should know by now, yellow has held a place in my heart for quite some time, and the fruity, summery feel that this print has makes it perfect. As you might've guessed, I've got a lemon-print wishlist, which like all my other wish-lists, is long and beautiful and totally unaffordable (for a shopaholic like me anyway, those of you with self-control might have the savings to be able to actually buy stuff without being in debt).

1. Lemon print bandeau top £30 from Topshop

I had a long-running argument with one of my friends about how 'bandeau' should be pronounced, but I finally won after about 6 months, proving that the 'eau' is an 'o' sound and not an 'oo' sound (yes Katie I'm talking about you). I love bralets and bandeaus in summer because they're so simple and look great with everything, and they're easy to wear with jeans when the sun goes in (which it does often in Britain). The cool tones in this print work really well and I prefer the pastel yellow to the bright yellow that's used in some of the other pieces. It is quite expensive for a bandeau top but the fabric is really good quality and it would work through AW14 aswell because it's not too bright.

2. Lemon print skort £34 from Topshop

Skorts are an SS14 trend that I'm yet to jump on but I think this pair could sway me. Again, the print is perfect and they're a really nice length, and they're also quite expensive but definitely worth it. They would look amazing as a two-piece with the bandeau, and the combination of the co-ord, the skorts and the lemon print would hit 3 SS14 trends in one amazing outfit.

3. Lila lemon zip top purse £7 from Accessorize

This might actually be the cutest thing I've ever seen, beating pink macaroons and grey kittens. I don't know how practical it would be; it's the wrong shape for bank cards and ID and I can't imagine much money would fit in it (but seeing as I never have any anyway, maybe that doesn't matter). There's also a matching bag available which would look perfect worn with a yellow top and denim shorts in the day, or worn as a statement with a white dress on a night out.

4. White lemon print bikini £9.60 for the bottoms and £12.80 for the top, both from Wallis

The two pieces are actually sold separately but I'm guessing no one would only buy one half of a bikini so I thought it made sense to put them together. There are 3 little one-syllable words, that when strung together make every girls dreams come true. Not 'I have food', not even 'I love you' but 'it's on sale'. For the set, the price has gone down from £28 to £22.40; all the more reason to snap it up while you can. Seeing as the print is perfect for any summer holiday and bandeau styles suit anyone and everyone, I can't imagine it'll stay in stock for long.

5. Lemon chiffon bralette £6.65 from Forever 21

I have literally no idea how or where you would wear this but it's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen. It's way too lingerie-like to be worn out but you would be able to see it if you tried wearing it under clothes? Regardless of that though, the print is gorgeous and the ruffled edges and tiny yellow bow make it really feminine and delicate.

6. Lemon print runner shorts £12 from Topshop

I'm actually not a massive fan of runner shorts, because as you know I'm definitely not a sporty kind-of girl. I think sports clothes should be kept in your gym bag, but maybe if I owned a pair of gym shorts this nice it would actually inspire me to workout more. They're just so summery and you can't exactly argue with £12.

7. Yellow lemon print cami playsuit £22 from River island

Playsuits are a summer wardrobe must-have! I get mine back out every year without fail because they just never stop being in-fashion. And it's great that a strong gust of wind is no longer a threat when you wear one. They also work out as really good value because it's a whole outfit in one purchase. You'll have to make the most of this while you can though because with a print this summery; there's no way to winterise.
