Missguided loving
Okay so the money from my birthday has started to seriously burn a hole in my pocket (well in my bank account, I'm not crazy enough to carry money like that with me) and so I've been hitting 'add to basket' more times than I can even count. I've had a massive missguided haul because I am completely in love with all their collections right now and they've got so many ideal holiday clothes - a must have when I go to Magaluf in 11 days and then I jet off to America for 3 weeks, after only being home for 6 days (July is going to be so amazing words can't even begin to describe). The only downside to online shopping is that you don't get sent coat hangers and places like Topshop and new look refuse to give them away, but I went in primark the other day and asked for a few and the woman filled one of their biggest bags with a load! Incase you were wondering, yes she is my new favourite person. But now with so many spare coat hangers, it means I've had to buy loads of new clothes to hang on them. So it's really not my fault; I'm just giving the coat hangers a purpose in life which I view as a good deed.
I'd seen this playsuit on a few other online sites such as pretty little thing, but they were selling it for about £35 which I thought was a bit much and I'm so glad I held off because Missguided are selling it for £24.99! I just love how unique the style is; the crossover straps and keyhole detail on the stomach is really cute and the drop-v back and floaty style keep it light and summery. The print is also amazing as its halfway between floral and tropical, and as you know I can't resist white. The multiple different straps and crossing-over does mean you have to select your bra carefully; I went with a strapless one for the photos but you can see it a little bit from the back so a stick-on one is the way to go I'd say (ladies invest invest invest!). I kept it simple and added my white La Moda sandals (£24) and a green gel-effect nail varnish by No7 in Peacock green.
This two-piece is literally the dream. It's like the designer collected every girl's dreams and then fabricated them into one amazing summer outfit. The pastel lilacs and corals are gorgeous and palm prints are perfect on holiday. I love the cut-out style of the neckline of the top and the A-line skirt will flatter most figures, as well as helping to keep you cool in the sun as it's not very tight. The top was £14.99 and the skirt was £9.99 so it's really good value for a whole outfit! Again I added my La Moda sandals and then finished the look with a coral lip butter. I often prefer lip butters or glosses in summer as they're lighter than lipsticks. No-one do them better than Revlon and this one in 015 Tutti frutti is lush.
This is the outfit I'm really in love with. I've been looking for something cobalt blue for ages now (don't worry I'm not preparing for a wedding, I just noticed a gap in my wardrobe) and so I fell in love instantly with this crop top which is only £11.99. The black and white pattern means it will go with either colour shoes and it will add an instant colour burst to any monochrome outfit. Again, I love the cut-out neckline but it does mean you have to wear a strapless bra because it kindof ruins it if you can see straps. I've also been wanting a black bodycon skirt for a while but it's really hard to find the ideal one (you'd think it would be easiest thing in the world). The problem is I didn't want to spend a lot on one, but if you go cheap you risk it being see-through. H&M have a good basics range but I always find their sizing to be really odd so I'm an XS even though I'm a M in a lot of other places, and they never seem to have any XS sizes. I really loved the mesh detail on the hem of this one and I think missguided fabrics are always really good even though they're quite cheap (this was only £12.99)! I had a huge dilemma though because they sold two identical ones but one was a couple of inches shorter than this one. Normally I'd go with the shorter one because they make your legs look longer (and it was a bit cheaper) but I thought the mesh panel might make it a knicker-flasher so I went safe with this one instead and I'm really glad I did. It's the perfect length to be worn high waisted and doesn't feel too long because of the mesh detail. I added my white new look heeled sandals (£39.99) and then finished it off with hoop earrings and pink lip gloss.
The photos don't really do this top justice because they make this look suspiciously like another all-white outfit - but I promise it's not. It is however, my other great love; pastels! I love these little crop tops from missguided because they're really cheap (only £9.99) and fit really nice; they're also a really nice length - finishing at the waist is really flattering. This pastel tartan print is really subtle but sweet and summery at the same time and it looks great with white. Like with the black skirt, a pair of white shorts was another wardrobe staple that I seemed to be missing. But missguided never let me down and I found this perfect pair for £14.99. They're a really nice material (I've been calling it bodycon but I've now found out it's called scuba) and I love the high waisted style and the length. I like that they're not super tight on the legs because they look a bit more tailored and classy; when they're too fitting they can end up looking a bit too much like disco pants (a crime we've all committed but it's safe to say I'll never re-offend, I hope you can say the same!). I paired the outfit with my white new look heels (£39.99) and my rose gold watch (not actually my Michael Kors for a change).
Okay so before you say anything I know these two don't necessarily match; it is a slightly different shade of blue but I didn't want to photograph two more outfits instead of one more because I was getting tired and wanted to watch gossip girl. I love this skirt though; it's a bit different to everything else I've seen. It's similar to my asymmetric ones but it's the same on both sides and I think the cross over looks really cute. I love baby blue and I bought a skirt this colour last year from new look, but it was only about £7 and ended up being too see-through for my liking so I haven't got my wear out of it. Attempt 2 at owning something this colour seems more promising though as this fabric is nice and thick and it's a good fit and quality to say it was only £9.99. As you know I love my missguided bralets and it seems that everyone has been misquoted all these years; a girl can probably have too many shoes, it's bralets she can never have enough of. This one is slightly more expensive than the others at £14.99 but the fabric is slightly nicer and the print is gorgeous; I love blue and white china floral print. To make up for not quite matching my skirt with my top, I matched my shoes with my top perfectly by adding my new look heels yet again (you can tell they're a current favourite). I finished with my rose gold watch and pink lipgloss.
