Dream(bank)notes and petticoats

When the sun is out what better colour to wear than yellow?! It's a trick question by the way; there is no better colour. And in the land of yellow clothing, there is no better piece than this gorgeous bandeau skater dress. With prom just around the corner (not mine of corse), all the high street stores bring out floaty and poufy dresses galore. I don't know anyone that's actually worn a dress from river island or new look to their prom but it's nice that they try anyway. And it does mean that for anyone like me who is feeling nostalgic this time of year instead of excited, we get the pick of loads of beautiful princess dresses. This dress is my new best friend and was only £24.99 from new look! So it's a real bargain whether you're wearing it to prom or not. It's not got any sequins or gems on it so it's prom-like without making me look like I'm desperately trying to go back to my 16-year-old self. The sweetheart neckline is really flattering and the nipped in waist and fuller skirt give the dress a great shape. I love the crochet fabric and the extra buttons down the front add cute detailing. It also has a strip of rubber around the instead of the top of the dress so it stays up despite it being strapless. I dressed it up with my primark statement necklace (£6) and then dressed it down again with my white La Moda sandals (£24) so it was the perfect mixture of dressy and casual. I should've added yellow nail varnish especially since I have the exact same shade as the dress but I was being lazy and I loved the No7 gel nail varnish in Peacock green that I had on already and didn't want to change it. I kept with the warm colours and summery vibes by adding my favourite coral lip butter by Revlon in 015 Tutti frutti. I don't know what I was doing in today's photos, I ended up touching my hair in about half of them. I think it's obvious my brunette hair has grown on me (excuse the pun again).
