All white everything

I think one of the most key colours for summer is one of the only ones which is not technically a colour; white (its supposedly a shade or tone or something). And what better way to wear it than white on white on white. I think it's a really classic look and one of the few that actually looks better now I've got dark hair - it's growing on me (excuse the terrible pun) more and more so I think it's here to stay. I love my new skirt that Katie got me for my birthday so it was pretty much inevitable that I would be blogging it sooner or later. It was from Zara but with it being a gift I have no idea how much it was (sorry) so you'll have to do some searching for it. I can't stand skirts that are a really flimsy fabric and end up being baggy and see-through (not a good look) so being made of a good fabric is key. This one is a really nice thick linen-like material so even though it's white, you don't have to worry about it being see-through or getting a VPL (also not a good look - small knickers girls, small knickers). The floral crochet hem is a really cute added detail and it's the perfect length. I think I'm weirdly proportioned because skirts always fit me on the hips/bum but then they're too big on the waist but a medium fit me nicely. I kept the style simple to match with the classic colour (or non-colour depending on your viewpoint) and added one of my missguided £9.99 bralets (the white one of corse) and my new favourite new look heels; my white cleated sole leather sandals which were £39.99 and are amazingly comfy. I think white is a colour that looks expensive when worn right so I wanted to match my accessories to that. You don't have to have a CĂ©line bag to look expensive - you can fake it. This accessorize bag was £42 (not too bad in the great scheme of things) but the gold clasp and black edging look sophisticated and make the bag look more Prada than Primark. Because of the gold detailing on the bag, I kept to gold jewellery too (well rose gold). I can't offer much advice on the faking it front with this one though; I added my beautiful Michael Kors watch which was around £200 and has attached itself to my wrist permanently. You can get similar styles on the high street though - new look and river island both have some nice ones - so you don't have to blow your budget on your accessories. This outfit would look great for a night out; just add a shiny red lipstick to finish the whole Marilyn Monroe-esque look.
