Tropicool

In the language of prints, dogtooth was to winter as tropical is to summer; an absolute must-have! And I couldn't help but fall in love with this gorgeous tropical print bralet from missguided. It was only £14.99 and the zip-up back means it fits really nicely. Sorry about the boob-shots but I couldn't find a better way to photograph the bralet on without making it into an outfit blogpost. I think green is a really nice colour right now (forget 'it's the new black', it might even be my new lilac) and the print feels really summery. It's also a really nice fabric so it won't make you too hot when the sun decides to show its face again. The cut of the neckline makes this bralet a bit different, although it does mean you can't really wear a normal bra or the corners and straps will show so I'd say wear a strapless or even go bra-less (if you're brave enough, which I'm not).

Along with my missguided bralet, I'm lusting after loads of other tropical print pieces. Both the co-ord sets are from Topshop, the one on the left is £68 for the set and the one on the right is £64 for the set. I love the mixture of pale pink and green in the one on the left and the bralet is to-die-for, although I'm not actually that keen on the skirt. I love the print obviously but I don't think that the skater-style midi skirt is that flattering and it would've been a nicer set if it was above the knee instead of mid-calf. The co-ord on the right has such nice holiday colours and I was surprised at how much I liked it because I don't tend to go for the tied-waist tops anymore. The high waisted shorts are the perfect style and length and the pieces would look good separately as well as together. It is part of the petite range though so I'd say to try it on in-store rather than ordering online so you know how it fits and how long it is etc. River island is doing tropical perfectly right now. I love the fit of their bardot tops (I already own a black and a white one) and so when I saw this green tropical one I knew I had to have it (£18). Yes, I have already ordered it and it is with my local courier and should be delivered to me in the next 2 working days. The other top (£30) isn't a style I normally go with; a kindof casual, sport-luxe style but I do really like it. The 3/4 sleeves are always flattering and the mix of monochrome and baby blue means it ticks a lot of boxes for me. There is also a green palm leaf print bralet in river island, a green tropical print strapless playsuit in Topshop and endless bikinis in primark but if I included my entire shopping list then we'd be here all day and I'm sure you've got better things to do.
