Summer loving had me a blast

Well I've pretty much been waiting for it since September the 22nd when Autumn officially begun, but I think Summer is finally here! And if this weekend is anything to go by then it should be a good one. I've pretty much spent the whole weekend soaking up the sunshine; I spent all of Friday drinking summer fruit cider in a pub garden with my best friend, then I spent Saturday sitting outside the cornerhouse eating pizza with another of my best friends, and that brings us to today; which I spent in the garden enjoying a family BBQ. And never one to pass up on dressing for the occasion; I donned pastels and florals (how radical for me, and for summer). The pastel pink skirt is one half of a missguided two-piece and was £14.99. Sorry about the bum-shot but I couldn't think of a better way to show that it was short at the front and slightly longer at the back. I matched it with this ditsy floral bralet which I got from new look last year for around £10. Its a great bralet for a more casual event because it's not as plunging as my missguided ones. I also added my La Moda white sandals (£24) and my Identity London watch (roughly £10-£15), aswell as pastel blue nails that matched the blue tones in the bralet perfectly, and dark pink lips. I used my Maybelline Color show in 651 Cool blue for the nails, which is amazing because it only took one coat to get perfect coverage, and my No7 Stay perfect in Classic rose for the lips because I'm determined to get my £9.75 worth out of it.

Drinking outside in the sunshine is the best way to do it in my opinion, and seeing as I was drinking cider on Friday I opted for cocktails today. This parrot bay ready mixed is really nice and saves you getting the cocktail shaker dirty; it's also really good because if you put it the freezer for a couple of hours you get a frozen daiquiri. But in typical Jenni-fashion, I was too impatient to wait for it to freeze and so I just poured it out and added a couple of ice cubes instead. It still tasted just as good.

We actually had such a cute family day. With my brother being an avid gamer who is seemingly allergic to sunlight and me being of the opinion that exercise is a way to lose weight and not to have fun, there's rarely a sport or activity that we can all do together. But when we went to Spain earlier this year, we all enjoyed playing table tennis, so typical of my dad; when we got home he went straight to Argos to buy us our own table tennis complete with top-of-the-range paddles and Ping-Pong balls.  We normally keep it inside but we brought it into the garden for the day and everyone got involved; even my grandma bless her! Not a family to ever do things by halves; my dad had bought sausages, bacon, chicken breast, chicken drumsticks and steaks to go on the BBQ aswell as about 100 bread rolls, 20 jacket potatoes, a bucket full of grated cheese and every sauce or condiment you could think of. We actually had 2 BBQ's to cook everything but they wouldn't both fit in one photo. Safe to say; I was in a food coma by the end of it.
