Cocktails, cake and pastel queen attire

Who says you can't do posh in primark? Okay a quick FYI - yes, I do realise that the shoes don't go with pastels but I've hurt my foot and these boots are the only pair of shoes I have that don't make it even worse. And ideally I wouldn't ruin it with the tights but it wasn't really warm enough for bare legs especially since I didn't wear a jacket. Apart from the watch, boots and bag, everything you see is primark. The bag is my everyday tote from Accessorize and was between £35 and £40, and the boots and watch have both been featured many times before, both new look. I always get my tights from primark, the 40 denier ones, because I don't like my tights to be too thick or too see-through so I found the perfect inbetween and it's what I've stuck with. I love this leather skirt so much (obviously faux leather but I won't tell if you don't); the fit is really nice and the length makes it just as good for day time as it is for night time. The colour is amazing; I can never decide if it's blue or green but I love it either way; and it was only £10! It has a small split up the back aswell which I think looks good and gives you a bit more movement. The top was £12 and is so cute and girly. If the pink colour wasn't enough, the silver thread detailing pushes it over the edge into full-on candyfloss-kingdom. I added my new necklace (Diamonds are a girls best friend blogpost) because the pink, green and blue in it meant it matched my outfit beyond perfectly and I thought it would be nice to show how I'd style it.

I also wore my new No7 lipstick from my Beauty buys blogpost; if you're someone who suits pastel pink then by all means wear it because it would go perfectly but unfortunately I'm not so I stuck with a darker pink. I thought it still went really well; contrast works just as well as matching. I also stuck with my green nail varnish (Maybelline Color show in 214 Green with envy) that I featured in my Feeling fruity blogpost and have been wearing ever since. It's an amazing nail varnish; it's lasted so well and hasn't even chipped! Plus it matched perfectly so I didn't see any need to change it. That would have been a waste of cotton balls and nail varnish remover.

Okay so today was my mums birthday and seeing as I didn't have college and my dad had booked the day off work, we all went out for cake and cocktails. Well me and my mum had cocktails, my dad tried to rescue his masculinity after traipsing round endless women's clothes shops by having a few pints of beer. We went for cake first at a place called Devine cakes; it's a really sweet little shop but their cakes are works of arts, especially their wedding cakes. I might have to get married just so I can buy one. I got the 'white forest gateau' because I'm obsessed with white chocolate and I don't really like heavy things like chocolate cake. It was so amazing, words can't even describe. And it even came in a cute pink packet; the only thing I like more than cakes are girly cakes. Then we went and had drinks to toast my mum on her birthday. We ordered a pitcher of porn star martini which was amazing; it's Absolut vanilla, orange, passion fruit, mango and lime and it's definitely up there with my favourites (along with Sex on the beach and strawberry daiquiri). I thought my outfit was a good choice for the days activities but it would be a great outfit for work or going out too; it's a really versatile one. Two shop assistants seemed to think so too because they both complimented me on my outfit, so I was obviously forgiven for the bad choice of shoes.
