Praise for Primark
I don't go in Primark very often because I can't deal with crazy bargain shoppers and what with working the weekends, I don't even get the chance to go into town that often (which is why Missguided is a fave of mine). But I'm really glad I did have a quick look after I went out for a friends birthday lunch (we went to Tropeiro and if you haven't tried it yet then my advice is to get yourself down there it is amazing!). I found these two amazing bits to add to my holiday wardrobe, which is ever increasing. I actually go on holiday tomorrow and I'm flying with Ryanair so I'm only taking a hand luggage suitcase rather than checking one in. So clothes that can mix and match and that go with everything are a must to be able to fit it all in. I'm obviously onto something aswell, as everything I need for a week in Spain has fit into a small suitcase with room to spare and only weighs 7.5kgs (can I get a round of applause please).
Okay so these shoes are obviously coming with me. Halfway between a shoe and a sandal, these gladiators are perfect for Spring. They're also available in tan or black but I'm loving white at the minute so that's the colour I went with. It also fits well with pastels or monochrome, which is basically all my wardrobe consists of. I'm also trying to move away from black a bit seeing as I've been wearing it for about 6 months straight. These shoes definitely don't feel like Primark's usual quality; what with the chunky sole and thick faux leather they feel really well made and are really comfy. I'm always on the borderline between a size 6 and a size 7 so shoes are just about the only thing I don't order online, but I went with a size 6 in these and they fit perfectly. So if you're between two sizes like I am, I'd suggest down sizing. I think I'm becoming a bit of a flat-shoe-phobic so the fact that these have the tiniest heel on them makes me feel happier. They were only £14 and it seems I'm not the only one who couldn't resist them as the shelves in the Nottingham store were almost empty so go and get them ASAP.
As someone who's actually starting to consider the worth of things before just buying them, I held back from buying the pale blue leather skirt from Zara. And I'm so glad I did; at just £10 this skirt is so much cheaper. Okay so it doesn't have the zip detailing on the front, but apart from that it's pretty much the same and it fits perfectly. The length is really nice to be worn high-waisted and the faux leather is flattering too. I teamed it with a black floral velvet and mesh cami and black heeled boots to go out for student night yesterday and I loved it. Also anyone who's ever been to rock city will know that getting drinks spilled/thrown over you is a real problem, but not to worry; the faux leather means drink just slides right off and doesn't leave any stains. An added bonus in my books.
Primark's also got some really nice heels at the minute including a pair of black peep-toes with monochrome wedge, and loads of summer essentials such as sandals and jelly shoes (I still have my Juju jellies from last year but I am tempted to invest in a pair of black jellies too). My love for Missguided is strong, but I've got eyes that are wandering towards Primark and New look and I have to admit, the temptation is strong.
