On wednesdays we wear pink
It makes me feel really old to be writing a blogpost dedicated to the 10 year anniversary of Mean Girls (which is weirdly cynical for a girl who's not even 18 for another 43 days 9 hours and 45 minutes). I don't know if the producers planned this all those years ago or if its simply the work of the Gods, but the 10 year anniversary just so happened to fall on a Wednesday, giving everyone the perfect excuse to celebrate in style. Because on Wednesdays we wear pink. So I thought I'd show you my bursting-at-the-seams-with-pink outfit, while dropping as many Mean Girls quotes as humanly possible. Prepare yourselves.
I'll start by describing the non-pink parts - i.e. the boring parts of the outfit. I wore black Joni jeans (£36 from Topshop) and my all-time-favourite black boots (£24.99 from new look), although I was sitting on the fence between black or grey jeans. Both would've worked. Either way, heels are essential; it's like the rule of feminism (quote drop number one). My top has been featured a couple of times before and was £17.99 from Missguided and is a firm favourite of mine. With it's cropped style and sheer panelling it's so cute and the colour is just perfect. It's so fetch (quote drop number two). I layered it with a pink and black textured jacket, which was £39.99 from New look, which you wouldn't think goes with much but actually looks good with most things in my wardrobe. I also wore pink socks, although they're not in the photo, just incase the double helping of pink wasn't enough.
As all girls should know, no outfit is complete without nails and lips. To this outfit I added dusky pink nails, using Maybelline Forever strong pro in 135 Nude rose, which has a really nice glossy finish, although it does take quite a few coats to build up a nice strong colour. For the lips, I used Revlon colorburst lip butter in 050 Berry smoothie. It doesn't stay on very long and needs reapplying quite often but it's a gorgeous colour and a really nice glossy finish. I love the design of the case aswell, even if it is made of cold, shiny, hard plastic (number three). When I got to college I was disappointed to see how few people decided to wear pink. If you didn't wear pink today then you have the let the team down and you can't sit with us (fourth and final one). Love ya (okay that was definitely the last I promise).
