My Missguided wishlist
Ever since discovering Missguided over 2 years ago, I've loved it. They're great at keeping up with trends, they get lots of new stock each week, they're really affordable, and they're delivery is amazing; I only ever pay for saver delivery which is supposedly 3-5 days and it always comes within 2 days, and they're one of the few companies which actually seem to pay attention to the delivery note and leave it where you ask them to if your out, instead of leaving it wherever they want (one guy put my boohoo delivery in the bin before, despite the fact I've got a porch and a back garden). They also offer 10% student discount year round, which always earns brownie points in my eyes (I'm always put off from buying things from river island purely because they don't do student discount), and I get regular emails from them offering Sunday deals, discounts and free delivery. I also love the fact that's its purely online; as someone who's a serious shopaholic I have surprisingly little patience for going shopping. The lack of my size clothes left on the rails, the slow walkers and the crazy bargain shoppers are enough to put anyone off going into town. I much prefer being curled up in bed, with my laptop keeping my lap warm while I spend money I really don't have. I think Missguided are good for being true to size aswell. I'm quite a standard size 10 though and I'm only a couple of inches shorter than the models pictured on the website so it's easy for me to buy things, knowing roughly how they'll look on me; it must be harder for someone whose really short or someone with a really curvy figure. I've been shopping there for ages now though and I'm always impressed with my stuff when it arrives. I'm broke at the minute due to my holiday and the fact I keep going out and spending too much, but when I finally have money again, these 6 are at the top of my wishlist.
1. Deynara Rose Print Collared Dress £29.99
I love this dress because I think its the perfect transitional piece. This time of year is so awkward for clothes, especially buying new ones because you don't want to depress yourself by buying yet more jumpers but if you start your spring wardrobe too prematurely then you'll either have nothing to wear or you'll have to brave the cold in lots of floral cami's. The floral print on this dress works well as it's not too bright, yet it still adds colour and the long sleeves will stop the chill from getting to you. The shape is flattering and the length is perfect as its short enough so you can wear it on a night out, yet still long enough to be worn with tights in the day. The white collar really sets it off aswell and keeps it smart yet feminine. I don't think £29.99 is a bad price, and with the student discount it looks even more reasonable.
2. Kazue Suede Buckle Wedges £42.99
I find it really hard to find heels that I really love. Everything's either too high, not high enough, the wrong colour, the wrong fastening or just not pretty enough. I hate that most heels out there are either sandals or peep-toe because wearing them out for just one night wrecks your feet for the rest of the week. I like these as they're halfway between a shoe and a boot, and the cut-out keeps them from being too clunky. I'm also not a big fan of wedges as I think they make your feet look a weird shape, but I don't do stilettos either - I need a chunky heel to be able to walk in them properly, so the cut-out wedge heel is a winner for me. They also do these shoes in cream and burgundy but for me, black is a must. It just goes with everything. I do think they're quite expensive but they're an investment piece and something you'd wear again and again.
3. Aurina Tailored Dogtooth Print Playsuit £19.99
Surprise surprise my love of dogtooth continues. I absolutely love the print of this - the pale pink is really sweet and feminine while the edgy dogtooth keeps it from being too girly. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price; I was expecting it to be atleast 25 if not 30, and with my student discount it ends up being well under £20. Can't argue with that. The sleeves on it are nice aswell; I don't really like cap sleeves as I find them unflattering, so just being that tiny bit longer makes these a winner. I can't say it looks very flattering around the crotch but this model is 5'9" so with me being 2 inches shorter, I'm hoping it looks more normal when I wear it.
4. Mikayo Nude Bodycon Dress With Mesh Detail £24.99
I'm loving lilac right now (almost as much as dogtooth). So far I've got a lilac cami and a lilac dogtooth crop top, and this dress would be the perfect addition to make it a lilac trio. I love bodycon dresses because I think they're a really simple way to feel dressed up on a night out without having to have loads of accessories. The colour of this one is so dreamy and the mesh detail on the waist keeps it from being too simple. It's a nice length and long enough so you won't have to worry about flashing everyone as you get out your taxi. I also love the sleeves; they're the most flattering kind as far as I'm concerned. It's a great price I think and it's a staple piece for spring; we all need some lilac in our lives.
5. Juditha Jacqured Floral Print Playsuit £34.99
Okay so it is quite expensive, but it's so gorgeous I just have to have it. Collars are a must, especially on this outfit as it keeps the look tailored and stops the print from being too over powering. Navy is a great alternative to black and the print is right up there with dogtooth. I also prefer playsuits over dresses, as I think they flatter your waist nicely and they're great on nights out as you don't have to worry about it riding up or anything (although they're not ideal when you need a wee and have to strip right off to be able to go). Although it is a bit over budget, this playsuit is definitely a must-buy next payday.
6. Paloma Boxy Top In Checked Dogtooth £14.99
In case you were in any doubt about my dogtooth obsession, this should pretty much cement it. I love boxy tops as I think they're really flattering and wearable and look great with high waisted jeans (Joni jeans from Topshop in black or dark grey are my all-time favourites). This print also fits in with two trends; tartan and dogtooth, because of the checked style. Plus black and white will always be the classiest combo there is and monochrome is a winner whether its for daytime shopping or night time drinks. Besides, who could argue with £14.99?
So next payday, £151.14 will be transferring to Missguided from my bank account (£167.94 total minus 10% student discount, I literally have no idea what I'll do with my life when my nus card expires), leaving me to be poor again. But I will have pretty new clothes so I think it'll be money well spent.
